Scotty, to me all I want to make a typical car into a luxury car is to convert it into a hardtop hatchback convertible with a sun/moon roof. I used to own a 1990 Plymouth Laser hatchback with a sunroof. Because of rusting problems( live in CT and drive to the beach nearly everyday) I had to get rid of it in 2007. In 1997, I bought a 1997 Chrysler Sebring ragtop convertible. In 2008, I bought a Chrysler Sebring hardtop convertible to replace the ragtop. I wish they made a car like the Laser that was also a hardtop convertible. If they dont, then I will buy a Terrafugia TF-X once Geely starts to produce them in a few years(2025 ) from now. Scotty, what did you think of the Plymouth Laser with standard transmission? That was my favorite car.

Scotty Ive been thru so much lately man and I finally found a cheap vehicle that Im so glad to have but It also has a bad speedometer and I absolutely do not have the money to get it fixed. I could use that gauge so much and its all need to finally get my car passing inspection so I can find a new job. Love your videos there so informative and professional I have the worst luck and could never win anything like that gauge but that simple device could literally get me back on the road and finally get my life back on track literally. hope Im considered. Thanks again for the video And keep them coming brother Have a good one everybody

Hi Scotty, I am going to get one of the Digital gauges for my 2016 Toyota because my analogue speedometer is not quite accurate. I have an oil change question if you have a minute. The book and Toyota garage recommends changing ever 10, 000 miles. I drive locally in Daytona and put abut 12, 000 miles per year. Since I come from the generation that changed every 3, 000/5, 000 miles I feel like 10 is too long. My question. Should I just relax and not worry, or would it be better to change every 5 to 7, 000. What would you do if it were your car. Thanks if you get a change to reply.

I know this is an older video, but it helped me with my decision. I had convinced myself I wanted a new truck, at 35, 000 or 28, 000 USED I wasnt really wanting to go that route so instead I put 2000 back in to my 2000 Toyota Tundra, its got new lights, wheels and an intake. Now its not exactly brand new but not having a payment is pretty sweetOnly work its ever had till this point was we redid the interior (it was ragged) rebuilt transmission (260, 000 miles) and an o2 sensor.

Thank you. I have been looking for both of these displays. I also am looking into getting the OBD smart reader thing you suggested in another video. You have earned the right to being my favoritr youtube mechanic. I fixed cars growing up including a similar lexus like yours until I was 20, now the Navy pays me to fix Fighters and currently cargo planes. I laugh everytime i think about it. You are awesome and I hope I get the chance to buy you a beer one day.

If you tell everyone to cut the OnStar Antenna off and cover its remaining stub where OnStar cant use their computer to disable the KEY RECOGNITION costing people millions in computer repairs monthly if not weekly in the USA its the biggest theft of money ever in the USA and isnt investigative by the FBI Trump has cut thier balls off

kool info. Once again I like the Scotty not yelling videos. I can likely use the OBD gauge as I have a 2004 Rainier and they have dash units that die. I got 160K miles on mine so I imagine its time is close. Great video again. Please keep up the normal voice Scotty, I like that version much better. Cheers.

One of the kewler things to do is to install dashboard USB charging ports. There and in the rear of the center console for back seat passengers. It takes nothing more than a location, a small hole saw and the USB ports. if you dont want it on the dashboard, install inside the console. be creative.

1000 for a speedometer stepper motor? I just replaced one in my 2004 GMC Envoy XUV for about 10. LOL. yea, I called the GMC Dealer and they said it would cost about 800 parts and labor to replace the dash cluster. The gauges are STEPPER motors. Just a few bucks each, and 4 solder points.
