I realize you probably have the opinion that Americans are some freakishly odd people. And just to reinforce the opinion that you're correct, I've actually sat here and watched several videos of your 3 hour trips. Only jumping ahead at a few of the very long, dark tunnels hoping that Frodo Baggins and Gandalf would appear at the end of it. There was even one time that I caught myself waving back to some people standing on the platform waving at me. But as I got further into the viewing of your job, I was able to convince myself that I was watching this to learn the rules on when I'm suppose to blow the horn and when not to. (Or should I say, When you're suppose to blow the horn) And being the fact that my last name is Horne (Granted with an extra letter, I'm fairly convinced I believe this now. (I told you I was going to reinforce your belief that Americans are freakishly odd people)

Awesome! I spent over half my career running nights. Started day freight for a couple of years, then day local passenger, then then evening local passenger and lastly night long distance passenger. Started at 69MPH then a few years it was raised to 74MPH then finally 79MPH. It was sweet to notch out the throttle to Run 8 and leave it there. 79MPH at night is a whole other world! Only had 2 mishaps in my career and both were at crossings. Neither had a good outcome. Both accidents incurred injuries but thankfully no fatalities! Retired with a clean slate!

On the other hand, by coincidence, it is the longest night of the calendar year.
Please answer to my curiosity. I see that sometimes the train goes right through some smaller stations. Does your railroad have what we used to call flag stops where the train stops only to either pickup or drop off. but you had to call ahead? If there is none the operator/engineer just keeps going on through and no stop.

I got a question? What dose your consists look like passenger wise. Like do you have any sleepers or Sightseeing cars or dining cars or first class cars in them? I would love to know and also love the cab rides up the moutans. Gives me an inside view of a driver in Norway and I love it.

At minute 33, is clearly visible the left edge of the track being lighted by the fluctuant greenish light of the pantograph arcing against the catenary aerial contact wire. Is this an effect of the snow over the wire, thanks in advance and keep on with your amazing videos.

Here I am with my hot choco next to a soothing fire in the fireplace, watching a night time train video in fullscreen 4K on my way to Voss. when I finish the hot choco, it's okay to fall asleep once again, since HCG has the wheel.

I notice all the longer tunnels have internal lighting (I assume to assist passenger evacuation in an emergency) however a few, such as the one immediately beyond Myrdal, are unlit - Why are there some exceptions?

I think the FLIRTs have a better light for filming by. Also, the arcing of the overhead(accelerating or dynamic braking) looks spectacular although it is hard on the panto-graph.

Are rotary snowploughs used in Norway to keep the line clear? I hear winter in Europe has been pretty traumatic this year, with unprecedented amounts of snow.
