Better late than never. Even though it's like three months since this was recorded, Youtube finally managed to get it pass the 360p point. Think I might have uploaded this video every 1 1/2 week to see if it would get pass the barrier. Anyways, this trip markes the last time I will be working on a Class 69 as they now have all been replaced with Stadler FLIRT Class 74. The Class 69 has been NSB's workhorse since 1971 and has been long over due for replacement. When trains get old the parts get harder to come by. Some of the parts on the Class 69 are so vintage that they're impossible to come by. Now these old buggers will go back to Oslo where their fate either will be decommission, serving as spare parts or sold off to private companies. Two of the trains we had have been reduced to two carriages instead of three and sold to Sweden and a couple has been sold to a company called Artic Train. The trip today goes to l where I will do the exchange with Class 75. ! Bergen Line information: Flam Line information: Signaling information: Line information and speed: Train Stops at: Voss l

Thanks for the heart Hindu your very kind. You should try to make it to the Jamiaca train platform in Queens N. Y. It's A train lovers paradise. It has 4 huge10 car platforms and 8 sets of track. The Manhattan bound side goes under the East river to Penn where you'll find every subway train throughout the city. Two stories down from there you'll find the Path, New Haven, N. Y. Central and Amtrak witch is the only diesel. Its about 30 people per car during rush hour. Welcome to my neighbor hood.

Class 69 is a little bumpy and noisy but not to bad. We have to say good bye to the work horse of the NSB and hello to the new Flirt class 74 with all the new technology. A sad day with a happy ending. Thanks HinduCowGirl for the great videos and explanations. Ok now with my HinduCowGirl coffee mug recharged I am ready to watch the last trip on the old class 69.

All things (and all beings, including human beings) must pass. Sooner or later. Old trains, too. So it is very nice to see last time one of these veterans documented on one of its last journeys in such a beautiful way. Once again, this video is great, like all them made by You! Immer gute Fahrt!

A bit fast for me, but I'm looking for things in the mountains, and don't have much time to look! Saw one thing I wanted a pic of, but by the time I got the train stopped, hit the wrong button and was back 40 miles! Getting really hazy out, so I quit my journey. Enjoyed the ride!

Another great video and this time filled with nostalgia for you HCG. One thing I noticed, there wasn't much snow on the trip over when compared to the videos you did this time last year. Has there been less snow falling this season?

What happens if you lose the key to the cab? Back in the day before combination door locks where invented, when I was a paramedic and someone lost their key to the station, the lock had to be changed and new keys issued!

We would choose teams when we were kids in order to do so we would count each other out by saying: engine engine No. 9 going down Chicago line if the train falls off the track do you want your money back! Your Out!

Thanks for posting, you really do a great job. That machine you pilot sure sounds like a lot of work for you, the newer trains are more automated I imagine. The scenery is beautiful as well!

I loved seeing the Christmas lights on the houses/in the yards. Riding along it reminds me of us taking a drive to see the Christmas lights here. Only it's a little flatter here. Heheh
