Thanks for showing us the -new- Morocco. Very much improved highways as well now. We drove down to Morocco in our '70 Dodge Dart Swinger car in Jan/1978 from Germany. We took the ferry across by ourselves and met an Australian couple who were travelling by bike. They joined me on my trip. We drove down to Casablanca and got hit by a bus in Rabat. Just hit the rear quarter panel of our car. I didn't give right-of-way to bus, so my bad. No stop signs then. lol Took us 2 days to get there. We then drove down to Marrakech and then over the Atlas mountains to the -real- desert at Ouarzazate. We then drove to the Blue Oasis near Erfoud to see the red sand desert. Back over the mountains and then on to Algeria. Finally back to Morocco after 2 days and took the ferry from Melilla to Malaga. The trip took about a month. I went back 2 more times in different vehicles, but finally made it to Agadir. We used to pass the train all the time when we drove around Morocco because of the tracks back then. Fun times.

Mmmm, not really of the same class train travel of 1st world countries. obviously! Even from an English working class perspective, kind of like when I was a kid in the 70's. Some people love that for the experience but I work hard to have comfortable travel once a year. Marrakesh will be on the last wish lists of travel trips for me, but I am female, can't blame me. Nonetheless, I am so loving your train trips for the experience and ideas of where I will travel next, my dad was an expert on trains like you, especially diesel engines in Northern England. thank you, I'll watch your whole suite of videos, can't wait for the next: -)

Always interesting to see what comments people are weirdly sensitive about in each country. For Morocco it seems to be having landscapes described as desert when they support some agricultural production and are not full desert by Moroccan standards. I don't think Thibault meant this to be in any way offensive. It is visibly arid compared to temperate parts of Europe, that's all. Morocco is a beautiful country and I really enjoyed watching this journey.

You should retract every negative comment you ever made about Amtrak after looking at that disgusting, nasty, rust bucket. It looked wholly unsanitary and like something you'd find in India. Sure the tracks were nice but what good does that do if the train you ride in looks and feels like a cheap ride at the state fair. I know it's not the Al-Boraq but sheesh. I wouldn't let my dog ride that train.

would love to see a video of trains in morocco before they introduce the buraq. It was one of the worst traveling experiences of my life the trains were usually packed around a thousand people on board and the prices were not much different than what we pay right now, no wonder they were able to build those impressive big stations as usual people's money for crapy services helped them build that

Enjoyed the trip. The trains are superb and the interior layout too is quite good and clean. The speed is remarkable and if they are able to stick to the schedule then it's no surprise that the trains are full. It was gratifying to note that the old terminus is still standing alongside the modern one. Definitely a pleasant way to travel as a tourist. Thanks for show.

I prefer travelling by train. You may have the opportunity to talk to people and make the trip faster. You can make a walk. Taking a train is much better than any other means of transportation at least for me as i have developped a plane phobia a terrible phobia. I hate planes. I hope scientists will discover a new way of trips like teleportation-

It's unfortunate how many disrespectful people were MASKLESS in the train, spreading their diseases to innocent people, and violating the rules everyone agreed to in advance when purchasing a ticket. These violators should be dragged off the train, arrested and thrown in jail for a minimum of one year. It's a crime, like attempted murder.

they are planning to purchase an entire new fleet but this time they want to industrialize it in morocco not only purchase from france italy or germany, and I think it s what we really need, plus the LGV project to the south is about to be launched so people will surely choose the LGV over Al Atlas trains in the nearest future

I did the same trip last January 2020 from Casablanca to Marrakech for the Marathon International de Marrakech. It was my first long distance train - ride and equally enjoyed very much the travel, the sightseeing in Marrakech and Casablanca and of course I enjoyed my first ever participation of an international marathon.

Fantastic and thanks for sharing! These trains look they could use a bit of tlc. Never took the train in Morocco but drove Fez to Marrakech and then to Agidir. Flew back home via Casablanca, New York, and Toronto. Brings back memories.

Ja gaaanz toll. Alte heruntergekommene Waggons, dreckige Toiletten. Genau so und nicht anders habe ich mir Zugreisen schon immer in diesem langweiligen Land vorgestellt.
Nein Danke.

Beautifully and splendidly made video never expected such ambience in the station, inside the train as also well maintained tracks and related infrastructure in this part of Africa.

Basically from Casablanca to Marrakech you aren't on the desert yet, a very dry summer but still not considered desertic.
The report is amazing.
