Trains and volcanoes seem like two things that don't necessarily go together. But believe it or not, there are many places where you can see trains passing by volcanic mountains - in the United States no less! In this video, we will take a look at several different trains passing by volcanic mountains in the Pacific Ring of Fire. We will see Mount Shasta, Mount Hood, Mount Adams, Mount Rainier, and Mount Baker

Interesting video. I surprisingly only see one shot of Mt. Baker (and it looks puny in the footage at 5: 43. If you come to Matsqui, BC, you can film CN and CP trains with Mt. Baker in the background on a sunny day. That being said, could you please confirm which volcanoes are featured at the following times: 0: 00, 3: 36, and 4: 08?

Nice video! Also today is the 20th anniversary of the Bourbonnais, Illinois train derailment. It was when a truck drove around the crossing gates and was struck by Amtrak train #59, The City of New Orleans, causing the train to derail and spill burning fuel. 11 people died and 122 were injured.

I have volcanoes and trains mix all the time! Since I live in Washington, I almost constantly see volcanoes like Mt. Rainier. Oh, and I also get to see Mt. Pilchuck, which looks kinda weird from one angle.

Cool video! Perfect timing with your trip Ruston, with the Work Train and the crane! I caught them near their work site at the 30. 7 bridge in Lacey with 1456 leading and the crane in tow. Very cool consist.

Hello Mike, i wanted to say that your filming places are wonderful. But you know what would be scary? if you filmed a train while a volcano was erupting.
Ps I have your merchandise!

Fantastic Video! Nice to see the P32's and F40's still working in the west, along with some old BN and ATSF equipment. (Even though the F40's are technically cab cars now)
