Freight trains carry just about everything you can think of - even new trains! In this video, we will follow a special freight train pulling 6 brand new commuter locomotives for Metrolink in Los Angeles, California. These F125 locomotives are being sent to metro link for use on trains all across the LA Basin. We will see this unusual freight train as it crosses the Mojave Desert and travels through Cajon Pass before ending the day at Riverside as the locomotives near their destination of downtown Los Angeles

Beautiful move, great video, awesome story and sequence of shots and events. but behind the wrong brand of locomotive. Seems like it would have been much more relevant and interesting with a couple new Tier 4 SD 70's. They sound better, look better, run better, cost BNSF a lot less to run and maintain, and are just overall a better locomotive. Even the class I railroads report the same. But I know we will now get a bunch of folks who are not railroaders, like my family has been since the middle 1, 800's talking about how great the GE Junkomotives are.

I rode behind one of these green locos on the Pacific Surfliner out of Union Station, Los Angeles down to San Diego in 2018. It is a Siemens ( Germany ) product. The Amtrak crew seemed really proud of the thing. It's really strange how you can -see right thru it-! I don't understand why they'd have the mechanics exposed to the elements like that. No doubt those flat cars are to provide -braking- for the dead locos? Abandoned tank car - 5: 42

In all honesty, I think the F125 has a pretty hideous exterior design, at least the nose, but seeing something like this is actually really cool. By chance, how many are yet to still be delivered? Also, in one of the clips I saw in the distance a locomotive smothered under a white tarp. I saw pictures of it and apparently it's an F125 headed for scrap. I'm curious to know, what's up with that? Is it actually headed for Scrap?

Hey Mike, I have a suggestion: Would you like to go see the Iowa Interstate Railway in Iowa? The IAIS is a Class II railroad and its locomotives are painted red, yellow, and black. They feature steam excursions and locomotives called QJ's manufactured from China. There's also the Hawkeye Express. Would you like to go see it, Mike?

I don't really like these new engines because their paint scheme looks extremely bland, their horns are putrid, and they also have those disgusting LED Ditch Lights. Hopefully someone other than Metrolink buys them and makes them a lot better than Metrolink has.

4: 09 notice that that BNSF locomotive has an interesting scheme.
Anyway, great video! Btw, have all the new F125s for Metrolink been delivered yet or are there some more still yet to come?

This must be an old video. Unless I miss my guess that road was taken out. That shot is gone. Beautiful though. I have not been there but once since the new road was put in. That shot is gone.

Just beautiful, Mike I kinda wish the the F125 would had gotten it's act together before Amtrak fell in love with the Chargers, would have love to see the F125's in Amtrak colors.

Is that tank car sitting off the track at Devore the spot where the other derailment occured that involved the delivery of another batch of these new locomotives?

Great video and documentation of the move! The H2 doors on the H3 GEVO caught my eye. Also the F125's are literally piles of garbage lol.
