Day 18: How to convert family to raw food & stay Fully Raw High carb Aaron: I'm vegan, pretty much do the raw till 4 kind of approach, my wife is semi-vegetarian, she used to be full blown SAD junk food so i'll take whatever improvements I can get. Anyways, we never buy meat or anything but that's not a problem I haven't once craved meat since going vegan. My body just said that's no longer food to me I guess. But I'll tell ya, totally she brought doughnuts home, they were staring me down all day but I just made sure I just binged out on stuff like cherries, I was fine

Hi Jeff,
I hope your diet is going well. I definitely hear the protein-craving thing.
Humans' protein needs are actually pretty well understood. The World Health Organization recommends that men eat 56 grams of protein per day. Even on a diet of only 10% of calories from protein, you would still get 62 grams of protein per day:
(2500 total daily calories) x (10% of calories from protein) = 250 calories from protein
250 calories of protein = 62. 5 grams protein!

Hi Fashion,
Freelee and Durianrider promote the 80/10/10 diet, wherein 10% of calories come from protein. This is actually plenty of protein:
Following this diet, if you're a woman eating 2000 calories per day, you would get 200 calories (10%) from protein. 200 calories of protein = 50 grams of protein. The World Healthy Organization recommends that women get 46 grams of protein per day. The 80/10/10 diet therefore complies with this recommendation.

Hi Jeff,
Also, you can easily do the high-protein thing on a totally vegan diet. There are a fair number of vegan bodybuilders out there.
Try Googling vegan martial arts champions Jan Muller, Jake Shields, and Mac Danzig. Those guys are strong and fit.
You might find it useful to make an appointment with a Registered Dietitian (just Google a local one. They can help you to plan a delicious high-protein vegan diet that suits your fitness goals.

I'm curious why you used the term fully raw in the title? Your message, your energy, and your realness is so much better than Kristina's, and she's definitely claimed that term (fully raw) as her own. Anyway, Love you, Freelee! You've motivated me so much, and you seem to have such a kind heart, and genuine desire to help others.
Oh. I guess this video was done before you guys had your falling out with K, so I guess I answered my own question, lol.

Hi Jacques,
The American Diabetes Association, on their website, makes this statement regarding high-carbohydrate vegan diets:
A vegetarian diet is a healthy option, even if you have diabetes. Research supports that following this type of diet can help prevent and manage diabetes. In fact, research on vegan diets has found that carbohydrate and calorie restrictions were not necessary and still promoted weight loss and lowered participants' A1C.

Thank Aaron. Many talk about 'reversing' but really mean 'controlling'. I am very well controlled with no medication, just diet but I am still hypoglycemic and cannot water fast as I will go to low. I know of no one who has completely eradicated diabetes, who can eat allot or not eat and their sugars remains normal, neither hyper or hypoglycemic. I will look up Dr Barnard but I am already following Dr Morse's program. Thank you very much

By the time the raw food gets to your colon it would already be mushy. I know that's not the technical term for it but there really isn't anything you need to you be worried about with eating raw fruit and veggies. Fat can actually inhibit the uptake of nutrients. There is plenty of good fat in fruit and veggies. Too much fat in the blood can lead to diabetes because the fat blocks your cells from receiving the glucose.

Hey I've been watching your videos and they are very helpful and make sense! I've been trying out this lifestyle that you've taught me for the last 3 days straight and I feel awesome already! It is very hard when the people you are with in your household think you are foolish for even trying and don't think you'll last more than 1 day on it, but I am so glad you make videos and your such a beautiful person! Thank you!

Hi Fashion,
I haven't heard or read about the colon tears that you mentioned, although it could be true.
You might find it useful to make an appointment with a Registered Dietitian (you can find a local one on Google. Better to talk to someone who is formally educated in human nutrition, than to try to wade through all the rumors and misinformation that is on the internet.
