Jake I really love the advice you’re giving. I think it’s so important to guide our kids in life. As a single mom of a 21 year old girl and a 23 year old boy. The only problem I’m having is that they don’t listen or believe a parent knows what they’re talking about. How can I convince them otherwise! Even though I lived an exemplary life for the they learn from what you do not what you say! They still think parents are antiquated and outdated on their teachings. There’s nothing I want more to have them do what I tell them to do because I can pass on all my experiences and save them so much useless hard work specially working in corporate America, which is what I had to do to raise them both on my own!

Nahh Jake. where are Nichole and the kids. and pups. Misguided talk for young people. forget biological parents. just a modern-day fad. As mentors, tutors, etc. not so good. It takes a village to raise a child. From doulahs in the birthing room to the aunts, uncles and elders, from then to forever raise children. It's what humans and other animals do. I like the building stuff, gardening stuff, animal stuff. But this is akin to sunday morning door knockers. sounds like it's a do it my way. no place for the kids way. you wont protect them from that. Seems Nickers is fed up also.

As a 74 year old I thought you were talking in circles. Your talk for the kids wasn't really in the first person, I thought you had some good advice, but it wasn't clearly stated. It doesn't matter how good and kind and teacher type parent you are, or even a very controlling parent, there will come a fine line of having your children love and respect you or hating you you. This line will be very different for each of your 3 children. Tony Oliviera had a really great thought in the comments down the side in the live chat.

As a 75 year old, Jake your advice are the truest words never said to the youth of today. If the young parents of today start teaching their children to help with chores, like Fox helps you, they learn the value of doing or helping to do what needs to be done. Parents today want to wait until their children are almost teenagers to start trying to instill work ethics in them and it just doesn't work. You and Nicole are doing a great job as parents, teaching skills and independence to your babies. KUDOS to you both.

You are amazing. This is the way I taught my children and my grandchildren. When my daughter had her two children, when I was around them I would teach them how to do things. My daughter would watch me and told me I should have been a teacher. I said why do you think that. She said, be abuse you are always teaching my childre. I told her, that is what we are supposed to do.
Love you and your family very much, and I don't really know you that well. Take care.

Just as much as you can be exploited by someone the same age or older, the same can be said about family, it all depends on the spirit of the being, one way to know how sincere this individual(s) might be, is to simply watch what they do and not what they say, because through their deeds you will clearly see their true intentions, having said the moment they show you their true colors, if its something that don't align with your core values, disconnect immediately.

Jake well said man. Fully understanding what you are saying. Had different but parallel experiences in life. Learning the skills sets and moral capacities as a junior youth through young adult are critical for the later years of life. Appreciate you sharing about some of the pains you have gone through and yet they have shaped you into the person you are and now you are able to inspire others to focus on what is so direly needed in the world we live in.

Hi, it's good that you do videos for your children, it doesn't just help future young people, it helps us to go back to the past, to reset. If I wasn't in a wheelchair, I would do the same thing like you 2, I've been following you for 4. 5 years, and each time, I learn something. So don't stop the videos. Bye.

Hey, I found that was very interesting. What you had to say very insightful information for your children and for all of us with kids, etc.
Your computer worked great. Your face was a little dark, but otherwise the volume and picture was good.

Hi Jake. just keep in your mind that your kids may just tell you to F off. not that they will. but they might! Be ready for that as well. Love to you and Nicole! What you are doing is truly admirable! All the best to both of you.
reply

Yes Jake! Even if there is blood they can be liars and deceitful. This is something we have to learn through life. You are very skilled! Smart hardworking determined and those are great qualities.

Thanks Jake, whilst you made the video for your kids, I agree and definitely can relate thinking of my young adulthood and now even more important thinking of my two young kids.

Having children in your early forties is a mixed blessing. You have so much maturity and life skills to teach your children. On the other side, less years with them.
reply

Jake my apologies. This is like reading someone’s diary and you clearly state several times that these videos are for your children so why publicize them.
reply

Hello Nicole, I hope all is well and I bet them babies are growing. Shouldn’t miss seeing them and you.
I love watching your shows thank you very much.

reply

Very true Jack. I have talked with many youth about just that to becareful and not allow us old folks to use or sway them.
