While he was speaking all I could think was:
a. How freaking awesome, majestic and interesting this movie is.
b. How there are so many promising black men who are discounted because of the way they speak or present themselves. Although theyre really amazingly bright and gifted if people could just pay attention.

At first I thought Mr. Coogler was simply unused to enunciating for the microphone, but after reading the stuff below I learned that it's simply a regional accent! Great example of how comment sections can actually be quite helpful. (And as a Texan I'm not in the best position to complain haha)

I've lived in a third world country for half of my life with English as my second language. I'm pretty sure he's not speaking weird. It's just that white poeple born in America don't really have the highest levels on intelligence and can't comprehend things as easily.

What's wrong with y'all i can understand him just fine. The dude is from the bay area man. He's an Oakland boy. They talk differently over there but that doesn't mean he's dumb people. He obviously is intelligent enough to tell good stories.

TO the listening audience: Really intelligent and creative people are a bit scatterbrained by nature. thats why so many people with ADD have a ridiculous high IQ.
