The Horrible Fantastic Adventures Mother Abuse Scandal, James Charles Ad Debate, SCOTUS & More naya: currently crying in my hotel room because Im having a full circle moment & I never share much so heres a piece of my heart haha. I dont really talk much about it but Hawaii was such a huge part of my life, I moved here by myself when I was 18 before ever visiting. Couldnt tell you why I just felt it in myself that it was the right thing to do. I learned to live off of 7 dollars every week because thats what I had left over and anyone that knows me can tell you that this is not an exaggeration haha. My favorite part of every week here was taking the bus to the store to buy three avocados. Everyday felt like I was dreaming. I had 200 dollars at one point and spent ALL OF IT on a vlog camera because I wanted to have the memories of the crazy things we would do here. My mom was LIVID because it was all I had. There came a point where I financially could not do it anymore and when I had to leave it was the biggest heartbreak of my entire life. It was one of the most depressing and confusing times of my life because being in Hawaii was the only thing I wanted and I fought so hard to be here. Now looking back if the universe would have kept me here like I wanted, I would never have the opportunity to experience the life and job I have now. Cut to two years later I got invited to come back to Hawaii on an unreal trip with taste (and I still cant believe they choose me to come on something like this. Never in a million years I could have even dreamed this is what my life would be and everyday Im so thankful for the people I have around me even if I dont say it enough. Life is funny in the way that we dont always know whats best for us or whats coming around the corner. Sorry for ranting. Coming from the most average person alive: If you have a dream I hope you go for it, and I hope you dont let others people change what you want in your heart. And to every person who is supportive of me, I love you so much. Thank you Tarte for the amazing trip. It meant so much more to me than just some cool makeup products(and they also just launched a cool high tides good vibes palette) (and adopted me a sea turtle mwahaha) tartecosmetics #trippinwithta

When a parent suddenly pulls 7 children out of school there should be follow up. Not minimal follow up but some good follow up. The state or county or whatever department it is should not only check and make sure everything is ok with the family but make sure that the parent is ACTUALLY home schooling (not just saying they are) and interview the children and make sure they are ok. I know, I know that's the government invading people's lives but considering it is the law that the children must be in some kind of school it really isn't that bad. If the parents can show they have lesson plans and the children are completing school work etc it would at LEAST show that the parents are doing what's right in that aspect. I have a feeling this mother couldn't have shown that at all.

A while ago, I wanted to see what all the fuss was about since Jennamarbles said she follows James Charles. Immediately, I couldn't get through the rest of his video when it was a lot of menial chatter interrupted abruptly by several midrolls. He's chatting at lightning speed, already hard to follow, and then mid-word gets interrupted by ads over and over again. It was a poor introduction to his videos, and I find it strange yet interesting that he's able to grow in spite of that. Then again, I hate commercials with a passion, and it's the main reason why I didn't like TV that much growing up anyway, so. Tad biased.

The only thing I hate with midrolls is that it feels as if creators dont get to choose when in the video they pop up, so they cut the video off in really inconvenient or odd places, instead of in a more organic place like in traditional TV. If that was fixed, I wouldnt really care about them at all because I know yall have to make money (its the same when you guys promote your sponsors, especially because I dont have the money to support creators I love on Patreon or anything. Its just when Im invested in whats going on and the ad cuts it off abruptly that I get annoyed.

I think you nailed it. look at all the ads, look at all the midrolls. money to pay for high production. My POV, these guys will end up just like MSM. Corrupt. Looking for that all mighty Smiter (I mean Dollar, instead of keeping YouTube 100. I remember when there was no monetization on this platform. (showing my age, but with that comes memory and wisdom) Youtubers did it for the fun of it. For the education of it. I see where this is going. it won't. end. well. editedI just saw I made a previous post. omg. Mandela effect.

That isn't a mother, that is a monster. She doesn't deserve the label of mother. James Charles is obnoxious as all heck, but I also don't think its fair or right to throw a tantrum about ads either. We want the content but we don't want to support the creators? Its nonsustainable. You can't feed yourself with fame. If you want the content, be that a physical artist, a digital artist, a youtube creator, a musician, they have to be able to sustain their lifestyle that ALLOWS that. Don't like, watch a different video.

Does AdBlock still work on youtube ads? I haven't used it in a while but I used to just turn it on when I didn't want ads and off if I want to support my favorite creators. Also a few ads over 30 minutes doesn't sound too bad for free tutorials from one of the best makeup artists in the industry. If you were paying for the tutorials/videos, then yeah complain all you want about ads. but Jame's is just an ambitious human exchanging free education and content for ad revenue and product promotion.

I agree the market decides about ads. But some people are taking advantage of this. I am ok with an ad for every five minutes or so. But there are some creators who are barely passing 10 minutes and have four blocks in it. Plus I have even seen someone that put a minute and a half of music at the end just so they can get to that 10 minute threshold. So eight and a half minutes of content and four sets of ads. That I am not ok with. If you would like examples I can probably look in my history.

James Charles Ads really bugged me when i was watching his Morphe Collaboration reveal which was literally a 30+ min ad with 6 ads which he probably got a budget to make and was selling his own product with his own code it felt like an over abundance of income. Like he was a true monetization farm. Stopped watching after that. Like good for him, make your coin but for me it was a bit much. Hes truly cocky about how he knows hes manipulating the masses to the enlargement of his wallet.

I think 6 ads is a bit much. I agree that YouTubers work hard and they probably deserve more then some of them earn BUT the reason I watch YouTube is it's not traditional media. I don't have cable because I dislike commericals and there are so many other ways to watch things ad free now. I think he's either gonna drive up YouTube premium or ppl will stop watching. I know personally when I see too many ads I click off because it's annoying just like traditional cable.
