A father-of-six has made his retro gaming dreams a reality by building an entire 80s arcade in the basement of his family home. Jeremy Wagner, 48, of Warrenton, Missouri, is the proud owner of the Vintage Vault arcade. The 1, 100sq foot space features 44 games cabinets, three pinball machines, pool and bumper pool tables, an air hockey, a vintage soda machine, a gumball machine and a bar area - as well as high score leaderboards for each game. I'm very jealous, this is an incredible arcade! This guy is a legend! He's keeping our arcade gaming history alive and even has the skills and knowledge to bring these works of art back to life. Seeing these arcade machines brings back some great memories of my childhood in the late 70s/early 80s (i was born in 74) spent in British arcades. The impact machines like this had on a young kid would be alien to kids nowadays as they carry more powerful computing power in their phones. Back then these were truly mindblowing and i remember the first machines i ever saw, Space Invaders and Pac Man and their loud sound effects and music blaring from the cabinets. I also remember that incredible Star Wars game (i played both the standing type and the seated cockpit type) which was a favourite of mine too. Again, that iconic music blaring out along with spot on sound effects and even voice samples. Truly mind blowing all those years ago and to the point that i still remember it clearly, that memory burnt into my mind! Great collection and great guy! Hats off to his quite obviously very understanding wife too, for putting up with his obsession.

Awww man what a lucky woman with a husband like this who can build a basement like this and give life to something that's been sitting around for years like these arcades he fixed what an amazing skill these american men here need a lesson or 2 from him all the darn men in the US are usually mama boys and want to be taken care of and have side chicks like they're some kind of celebrity then when they're balding and looking old they want to play husband at the age of 40 I'm sorry my fellow Americans but this is the sad truth in our country

I have grown up with a gamer as a dad I'm now early 30 and he passed down all the gaming consoles to me, I now have all the gaming consoles and love them all ( no arcade machines ) but this is my hobbie, my partner loves collecting gaming statues so it's great --

I have to say he is a collector because anyone can enjoy his collection as well as he did the majority of the work himself. It's like remodeling a house. Some people pay someone to do the work, others do it themselves. Money, time and effort.

That is SOOOOOOOO COOL! My husband and I LOVED playing those games back in the day! My husband would literally be like a kid at Christmas if he was ever able to see and play those games! --

His arcade is awesome and he has loads of awesome arcade machines, but he doesn't have many consoles (as per your title suggests. I have more consoles than he does.

Being a 90's kid before technology blew up, This would be a place I'd have a few drinks and play some classic games down there all night

By today's standards, that's really a very, very small console collection - but the arcade machines are noiiiiiice!

I don't know wich is more awesome: collecting all those rare games or being able to resurrect them yourself!

Jeremy has a really nice collection, but it's nothing compared to what a lot of other collectors have.
