My acne's so bad my dermatologist grimaced - shake my beauty
video description
Stop washing your face. Seriously, stop washing your face! Stop putting on steroid creams, petrochemical bases and make-up on because they are poisonous to your type of skin. Seriously. Stop washing your face because UK water is chlorinated and over washing due to psychological stress strips away natural healthy bacteria. You have stripped away the healthy bacteria from your skin and the nervous reaction on your body is inflaming matters.
Relax. You cannot be any more than you are right now so surrender and accept it. Let go of the stress by relaxing into it.
Cut sugars out of your diet as much as possible and reduce fruit dramatically! Start eating local organic produce. If you crave sugar then eat dry fruits or muesli.
STOP WASHING AND TOUCHING YOUR FACE! ESPECIALLY IN THE HOT SHOWER! You will be amazed at how much this actually helps the skin.
Get rid of all anti-bacterial products in your home. Change your washing machine detergent to an eco friendly non perfume type. Washing detergent leaves over the top stinking chemical residue on your clothes, towels and bedding. Not good at all for skin.
When you stop washing your face you will notice that the skin will start to dry up. Use a natural based cream to allow the dry skin to fall off. I use Weleda Skin Food cream every morning and my face has went from red raw acne to clearer healthy skin.
Realistically It will take months for the natural oils and bacteria to start to restore balance in your skin.

Her boyfriend seems absolutely lovely and non-judgemental. It is extremely hard to even attempt to overcome the horrendous insecurities that come with severe acne. When I had severe cystic acne (face, neck, back, shoulders, chest) I just felt like my body had been taken over by a disease, it felt like I permanently had a bad case of measles, I couldn-t see my face because it was just acne. I just knew I couldn-t cope in social situations where flawlessly good looking people would all be and I-d be judged, I couldn-t and wouldn-t stay over anywhere other than with family because I never wanted anyone to see how disgusting I was when I woke up before I started my daily routine of trying to hide it, just so I didn-t have to look at the redness and the mess that had taken over my body. I was very clean, used all topical treatments then finally Accutane at age 17/18 which finally stopped it. My back and shoulder acne continued for some time after. I would not wish severe acne on anyone - it affects every area of your life because it is so destructive to your self confidence. For me, I would look in the mirror and not even see myself there was no way in hell I could have felt comfortable with it. Often I would stay in the house for weeks on end even when I had college to attend or places to go - I could not face the world looking like I did. Severe acne is so innately depressing.

I don't know if any of you are ever gonna read my comment but if you are struggling due to acne let me tell you my story. I had my face packed with pimples and scars in my teens. I had lost all hope and I was crying and was totally under depression. I had totally given up when my aunt suggested me a great skin specialist.
When I went to the doc she told me these things:
1. Identify what food triggers your acne
2. Don't let your face get oily wash face with sulphur soap.
3. DO NOT use makeup. Don't cover the acne and pack it with chemicals which won't let your skin breathe. Instead heal the acne.
4. No junk food.
5. Don't take stress. Relax.
6. Use all meds by the dermatologist on time as instructed.
7. Use non comedigenic physical sunscreen either containing zinc oxide or titanium dioxide.
8. Don't touch your pimples and pop them.
My skin is flawless now. The scars are also gone.
Acne IS curable. Go to a skin doc. A good skin doc. Don't give up. Please. And don't make acne worse with makeup.

I have really bad acne
I go to two dermatologist
My acne is on my face, on my neck down to my chest, down my arms to my elbows with a few on my forearm, on my stomach, down my legs, my whole back is covered
I take pills, which makes me sick and sometimes doesn't work
I use so many creams and stuff and they sometimes work or do nothing for weeks, my skin gets so dry and itchy from the creams I take
I try so hard
There was a time I worked hard on doing my face and chest, than the acne went to my stomach
Alot of times I give up. I had acne since I was 8, it's been 8 years
My acne on my back was purple at one point
It's been so hard to deal with
I'm lucky I been homeschooled most of my life so no one knows I exist
But I do think if I knew people or had a bf, I would be hated for how my skin is.
My skin is sensitive, I get rashes easily and stuff
But if you go through acne whether it's very little or super bad
I'm sorry and hope you have an amazing day and your acne gets better: (

You know. i have acne. Im pretty dark skinned so i have a lot of PIH all over my back, arms, stomach neck and most concentrated on my face. Ive had it since i was 15 and its still there at 23. I have pcos, hashimotos thyroiditis, severe gluten and dairy intolerence and am pre-diabetic. Absolutely no one eats healthier than me. No one has a skin care routine like me. No one also has such bad skin like me.
It destroys me to look in the mirror. I have nothing more to change to improve my skin. I have changed my whole life for my skin and still. i hope it changes, i hope it can get better. The unsolicited advices are cruel. I dont think acne is beautiful. i dont think its normal, but i do think its common. It shouldnt be villanized tho

I've always had clear skin and then for an entire year or so I was struggling with acne in my early 20's. I would get horrible break outs on my forehead and one time I had a date comment on it and I was so embarrassed and hurt because I was not used to having acne. I finally figured out the shampoo brand I was using for over a year, was the source of my facial acne. Once I removed it, my skin cleared up again. Also I'm very sensitive to any facial cleansers. I break out if I use any so I use only coconut oil now. Even taking collagen supplements break me out badly. I'm just sharing my experience because it took me a year or more to figure out SHAMPOO was causing my acne.

Hello, I was in the same situation as you. severe cystic acne for a decade - I battled self hatred for that decade. Nothing worked until a course of Roacutaine got rid of it entirely. Took a second course many years later when it suddenly began to return but the acne never returned. I'm now 51. Roaccutaine was incredible for me.
Stieva then removed the scarring.
You are right, while your acne will pass, you are still just as beautiful with it - probably even more so. My acne made me a more empathetic compassionate person and I'm so glad I had it. I did not have your self confidence but wish I had. Bless you.

I also started struggling with acne a year ago. I also had perfect skin in highschool so it was a bit of a surprise. I tried almost every product there is but nothing would work. The chemicals would burn my skin and it became dry and sensitive, breaking out in cysts every few weeks. My self esteem suffered and I felt shy especially around my boyfriend even though I had had great body and he didn't care abt the acne I still felt ugly. I have stopped using products that are too harsh
. Last week I decided to go back to using a simple moisturizer and Vaseline ony face and already the dryness is going away.

I had severe cystic acne breakout bouts a few times in my life, caused by birth control. It was HELL, and one of the worst things that I experienced was when I was working with my sisters. I was at my computer and they were talking right next to me about how their friend was in the hospital from toxic shock syndrome, and she developed acne. They blatantly said that was so sad because she was so pretty and now she's ugly. You can be in the hospital lucky to be alive and that is what stands out to people.

I started getting adult acne at around 23. I feel for her: / I hope she figures out a solution. I still get it but the bad cystic type cleared up on my forehead when I stopped eating sunflower seeds and my jaw line cleared up with birth control pills. I had it for some time and it really hurts your confidence, I didnt really understand until I had it. I still check out all the ingredients in the food I eat and avoid sunflower now. Its sad bc I used to eat them by the handfuls growing up.

It's annoying when people have to make their recommendations on what works for them. I've tried it all, it's like, you think I didn't try that? I know people are just trying be helpful, but for some individuals, acne can have more to the story than researchers, cosmetologist, and others know. Its refreshing to find videos of people who suffer with this like I do, and not about a success story or make up suggestions.

I have seen worse on a friend of mine when I was younger. I too had adult-onset acne. Over the years it bothered me so I wore foundation all the time. Finally, I found retinol and that cleared it up. It took a while, though. As I aged, my skin looked much younger and I realized that all that foundation acted like wearing sun block, preventing the aging of my facial skin. So something good came out of it.

The dermatologist shouldn't have reacted in the way they did. First off, her acne isn't the worst, I've seen much worse things on TikTok or online and the reason this person feels like her acne is terrible is because the dermatologist totally changed how she viewed herself.
Edit: Sorry for the post not being interesting to read, I failed English: D

I think people are beautiful, but I don't think acne is. It's a condition that you treat with medication. Like diabetes or asthma. I don't think there is a great percentage of people who have nothing to treat. I think it's normal to have something that is not normal. But I don't think it's beautiful.

I-ll be real when I had acne it was always worse when I went crazy on the products. I just use hot water and whatever gentle soap / facial wash is around when I-m in the shower and I don-t do more than that. My skin responds to that waaay better. Everyone is different though.

People don't realise that it is actually physically painful as well. It is an inflammatory skin condition, and you have to treat the skin gently otherwise you will only make it worse. For those who have it, it can feel like a curse. It can get you down in a big, big way.

Acne isn't just about appearance, it's painful as hell. I've had cystic acne for 15 years and while it's calmer, my face is horribly scarred and the pimples I do get are super painful.
Acne isn't linked to any sort of diet or hygiene by the way. It's a medical issue.

I wonder if it-s her hormones. Birth control can cause this to happen. I had perfect skin my whole life, like flawless. And around 30 I started getting acne. I started using curology about a year ago and with in 3 weeks of starting it my skin cleared up!
