23-YEAR-OLD Dana Nicole Oswald from Ontario, Canada has lost half of her body weight within a year - losing an incredible 125lbs. Dana says she-s always struggled with her size, but it was during university that Dana gained most of the excess weight. She told Truly: -Food was an addiction to me back then, I was eating 3, 500 to 4, 000 calories a day. - Dana-s food habits were starting to have an impact on her body, weighing in at 265lbs at her heaviest, she often felt tired and struggled with stomach issues. But it wasn-t until a doctor told her that the excess weight was causing Dana to have high blood pressure, that she realised something had to change. Completely reconstructing her eating and exercise habits, she soon started shedding the extra pounds. Dana shared her journey online, posting updates and tips on her instagram page: -When I started with my weight loss journey on social media, I was posting to share with my friends, but then it became a really good way to help out others. - When asked how the transformation affected her life, Dana wants to make clear that it-s not just about the physical changes she-s undergone: -The greatest part about the transformation is all mental, my mindset is so different, I-m so much more positive, less anxious and much happier

Even though it's 20% exercise and 80% diet it's unfortunate that most of these videos show the exercise part of it and not focus on the diet part of it. Most people are binging on highly processed foods that hit the dopamine receptors pretty quickly and strongly to get an emotional lift from the painful lives that we are living. Animal foods and processed oils are the main culprits in weight gain as they are 1300 to 4, 000 calories a pound vs 100 to 500 calories a pound for whole low fat plant based foods like starchy and non-starchy vegetables and fruits. Potatoes rice corn beans peas lentils pasta and whole grain cereals are all low fat under 10% fat and very satisfying low calorie under 600 calories a pound whole plant based foods that are extremely high in fiber which is the other ingredient That's essential to good health and ideal weight.
Eating meat fish chicken yogurt cheese ice cream eggs oil and processed foods are the reason why the standard American diet is debilitating to mental and physical health.

the sad thing is black women get pumped into their head that oh you're black they're supposed to be fat oh you're black they're supposed to have masculine energy. it's called stereotype threat. And a lot of people of all Races give into their stereotype threat. and when people see it on themselves or if they don't see it in themselves they go looking for it which is stereotype confirmation. black women you do not have to be obese. you can get down to a proper weight for a woman which is 140 or less. you don't have to be full of masculine energy and you don't have to be a single mom before your 30's. it's more than just weight loss that we need to tackle in our community but weight loss is a start and I applaud this sista.

Poor nutrition affects your mental health as well. We aren-t talking about that, Its more focused on your looks. Your brain is affected by a poor diet. I had anxiety and depression for years I was never fat but I wasn-t eating healthy. After 1 month of changing my lifestyle I stop smoking weed and a followed the keto diet method, the depression and anxiety went away completely! I suffered with this for over 10 years and it was terrible! Im telling no lie after 1 month. Your health and Food is important stop taking it lightly. Ps weed isn-t a problem but smoking it is.

I definitely eat more than my sisters and that's why I'm bigger than them. I'm a mesomorph, so my body fluctuates daily, but the only reason I am not overweight is because my eating patterns are so random. Counting calories is too much for me, but I noticed that I eat a lot some days, and don't eat a lot other days. Some days I unintentionally intermittent fast, and sometimes, if I ate a lot at night, the effect isn't that bad cause I had barely eaten anything during the day. But it is the reason why I haven't reached my goal weight in 10 years.

I'm your white twin. Everything u just said is what happened to me. I was 263 high blood pressure always fat. I've tried numerous diets even starving myself when I was younger. After my bb was 150 / 90 I've decided to loose weight and get in shape

Strength training is a big game changer. Combined with eating healthier and moderation. She did amazing! She looks stronger and more youthful. But before and after she was a beauty for sure. But her confidence is so much more obvious!

I was 260 and went down to 236 and gained it al back. I- started again and now I-m 221 by doing a no sugar low carb diet at 15. It-s hard to maintain j only been on it for about. 3 weeks and made some mistakes but I-m trying

I have high blood pressure and weight 368 so I'm on the DASH diet to lose weight and lower my sodium intake. I've lost around 6 pounds so far and I hope to keep my motivation forever really.

I'm 22 weigh 279lbs and was told I had high blood pressure last year I don't how but I know I will lose this weight my aim is 3-4 years. I want to go slow so I don't get loose skin.

That's great that she did it while she was young enough that her skin still had some elasticity. Bet she didn't need any surgery for excess skin. She looks great. :)
