DANIEL GALLAGHER is a 31-year-old singleton living in Manchester, UK. In 2012, Daniel was involved in a life changing accident. He told Truly: -I had my legs amputated, a stoma fitted, mesh put into my heart, I've got a partially broken spinal cord and I was in a coma for 17 days. Daniel has been single for six years and is looking for someone who can look past his wheelchair and accept him for who he is. -The gay community can be very shallow just because I'm in a wheelchair and I actually had one guy tell me that he would date me but I'm not like aesthetically pleasing because of the wheelchair. - Today, Daniel is excited to go on his first ever blind date and hopes to meet the man of his dreams

What-s funny to me is that no one actually thinks of a person -oh wow, I really dislike/dont care for their face, but the mere fact that they have legs, yes, that-s how I-m sold! -. Like, legs or no, you-re going to be attractive to them based on so many different other things, but not legs vs no legs. Other issues might come into play, sure, but I don-t see how it could affect attractiveness, per se.

I think it-s so sad that someone who literally survived death would be excluded because of a disability. To say I wouldn-t date you because of this is extremely shallow and selfish. Could be the most amazing human you ever met but wouldn-t even give the chance. - hope he finds true love and happiness from someone who deserves his amazing presence.

I think that it is pretty natural to be anxious, especially when something about you does not conform to the norm. However, there are people who are indifferent to certain things, and those are the ones to focus on. Find the right person is hard for anyone. You've just got to hope and pray, and carry on. This guy is a miracle in any case.

I was in a long relationship with an amputee and I never thought anything of his missing leg. Never pitied him, never was weirded out, was still very attracted to him. If anything seeing his struggles with the prosthetic and walking made me respect his determination to do all things a man with 2 legs can do. Just in different ways.

To be honest, I would be very bad. I have a REAL phobia. Since I was a kid. I couldn't see someone amoputee without crying, so it's something that makes me very umcorfotable. My problem, not his problem, but that beeing said, I wouldn't be rude, but I would probably have panic attacks. :/

Disabled man or woman the disability doesn-t define the person. It is just a part of their lives. They are still looking for genuine love and the same things an able bodied person is. They( we) just do some things differently

I think I-ve seen this guy on another reality show where this comedienne finds handicap accessible vacations for ppl. I believe she sends him to Brighton Beach. Has anyone else seen that show or am I just being delusional.
reply

just saying it doesnt make people bad for not wanting to date someone in a wheelchair. It takes work time money and effort to date someone and care for someone in a wheelchair so you cant blame them for making that choice
reply

I think he's just insecure with himself, he should just hit the gym and work on loving himself. Ignore the mean spirited people and he'll find the right person. Maybe seek therapy or something.

For me I'd definitely see beyond anyone's disability if i felt a spark on day one. Amazing handsome and adorable men, good luck for your future or futures you two, take care Xxxx -

Saying u won't date someone cuz they're not -aesthetically pleasing- for being in a wheelchair is the lowest of the low. I would never WANT to be with someone like that.
reply

I love your attitude on life. I think u have such a great personality n that-s what matter's. Such a handsome n- great guy -SOMEONE WOULD BE SO LUCKY TO HAVE YOU-

Their are perks of being with someone in a wheelchair, when you cuddle, they can't walk away quick enough so you can pounce and hold them close -

I will burn in hell for this but I would not have any problem with him being an amputee.
I would have a problem with the way he talks. My. God.
