Our mum was incarcerated for 11 years - my extraordinary family

TYLOR was five years old when his mum, Natausha, first went to prison. She was reincarcerated while he was in high school and did a further eight years in jail. Tylor remembers that time vividly: -I was really mad. I remember feeling confused, devastated and just really betrayed, he told Truly. In prison, Natausha spent a lot of time reflecting on her decisions and her role as a mum to her kids. She told Truly: -I have a lot of regrets. I try not to focus on those regrets too much because it would keep me from moving forward. I've learned to forgive myself and to just try to be better than I was before. Natausha was released from prison in December 2020. The mother and son duo have spent the time since her release rekindling their relationship. Tylor told Truly: -I'd say we-re probably closer than we-ve ever been, I didn't really think that was possible. But now being an adult myself and understanding that everyone makes mistakes, but they don-t define who you are- That-s really helped

For all of the negitive comments or people that have something to say about her shirt.
Shes strong for going through what she did. She strong for being sober now, she's strong for putting her life out on the internet for scrutiny, she's strong for coming out and trying to be a part of her children's life.
Don't judge people! If your not an addict or have been an addict don't judge her. You try her life let's see if u end up alive! Most people od right away out of jail or end their lives.

That is so sad because she let them at a very young age and her son had to step out so he didn't much have of a life which is unfair or has you which is unfair or hard to do that to her kids but I guess when you're addicted you don't know what you're doing things just happened I don't glad that she's back and I hope you can go back to jail

wow her children are such beautiful human beings inside + out, hoping the best for them + this family! i am an addict in recovery (8. 5 years) with a similar story to Natausha, just without children, so my heart goes out to her + her family. stay strong for yourself + for your family, you got this girl- one day at a time -

They seem to have grown up to be wonderful kids even despite their past and not having their mother there for them. I'm glad she is doing better now and being a great mother and hopefully making up for lost time! Glad her kids could forgive her and still have a close relationship with them!

I think on social media everyone post the good or like life is unicorns and rainbows when it's definitely not. When you see videos like this it shows that people are real and ppl can relate to. Nobody's perfect so we need to remember that before ppl judge others. Be KIND to others!

For the women in this video if you end up reading these. I'm proud of you for so many reasons. I just had 4 years clean on the 18th of April 22, its hard everyday. Your doing the right thing and lucky to have those two children in your life. Keep going -

I went to prison for 3yrs when my kids were very young and had never even smoked pot. My daughter is still very angry about my time away and I've been out for 19yrs. It only took one go round for me to learn my lesson

Impressed by all members of this family; we cannot change the past, but we can certainly live (knowingly) today in a better, kinder, and healthier place (having learned from our past mishaps.

I am so glad they forgave you. It is nice to have support. Your son looks like you. You have very handsome children. I hope you continue to get better and better.

I think this episode should have been more about Tylor. He's the true hero here for helping raise his siblings. The mother (and i use that term loosely) is trash!

Everyone deserves forgiveness. Happy that they are all together again. Having a parent who is incarcerated is hard on everyone but especially the child/children.

We were on the streets and in prison together! So happy you-re out and doing so much better! I have been clean almost 7 years!

This is the reality for so many kids. This should be done about other families not just theirs. It-s not just them, they-re not special.

Most be hard to open about it, but good she's okay and on contact with her children -. Also these 2 of her children are beautiful -

Where are the other children? Are they adopted out? Are they with family? Just curious what happened cause it looks like 6 kids

--- Your SUPER LUCKY LADY to have your family, so keep your chin up, one foot in front of the other, & keep on, keeping on. --

It would be much more productive to find a way to actually help and rehabilitate addicts instead of strictly punishing them.
reply

I can totally relate to you and congrats on being sober and mending your relationships with their kids family and friends!
reply

I-m glad they did a prison story because many people can relate to this growing up with their parents locked up
reply

Some bad and poor choices there. Kids should take priority. Hope all will be well.
Gorgeous mum and kids.

reply

It-s sad atleast they had grandparents imagine those kids who have no grandparents and parents in jail
