Thank you for sharing your story. I would like to change a word in your vocabulary! I have such a problem with one using the words normal and abnormal. Most likely some curious individual said -abnormal-, & it started from there, to even you using the terms to describe yourself. I have an adult son with a craniofacial difference, and my being his mom and a NNP, I was absolutely not okay with someone using the term -abnormal. -
The terms -typical and atypical- are much more accurate. It's a difference, not a label! You have a difference, but heck ya, you are normal! It's so much less of a negative connotation! I hope you can see yourself as someone with an atypical difference and don't let well-meaning people define you!

You're doing a fantastic job for people who have the same probleem, hopefully recognize them selves in your situation. But further more: you look like an honest and very kind person and that's what counts. But in the end it would be very nice if the reconstruct your face to your wish and comfort. -

It-s kind of sweet how the unaffected twin sort of pulls his jaw down when he speaks, almost like mirroring his twin. Probably unconsciously learned that just by daily putting himself in his sibling-s shoes. That-s some brotherly solidarity!

Vaccines probably caused this. They confuse your immune system like nothing else. He should look into reversing the autoimmune issue. It's very possible, people do it all the time. Still I don't think he looks weird. People are just rude.

It's wonderful that the disease burns itself out. Reconstruction will have you reconstructing your emotional balance. Good for you to champion on through, and good for your brother to be there for you as protection. - YHWH bless you both.

Society pressuring people to feel -normal- especially when they are different because of medical conditions is so messed up. It's so easy to teach your kids to treat their friends normally while also appreciating their uniqueness.

I feel like having an identical twin has it's advantages because for surgery they have a great model to work off of for reference. Literally the same face to help figure out how to make the symmetry work!
