Scary thought.
I'd rather think there are none but I expect they do come over rarely.
I was diving last saterday off brighton & we all saw a fin going along but the way it came up & swam down was more like a dolphin but we only saw a fin a few times from a distance I have never seen dolphins or sharks in uk but much more likely it was a dolphin.

The Celtic sea isnt much deeper than 100m, the ocean ridge that drops off to depths greater than that is quite far off shore. I suspect the reason a white shark population has not established around the British Isles is because they need greater depths than that for a lek style mating system.

Theyve been here for years. Only reason weve been told otherwise was because businesses didnt want people to stop swimming at U. K. beaches. Weve got almost the same water conditions as South Africa, which has the largest concentration of great white sharks in the world

The boat which features in the clip was commissioned by me, and built by John Moor of Mevagissey. The name comes from a quotation in Cervantes book Don Quixote: Diligence is the mother of good fortune. which seemed about right to me!

Great Whites can tolerate the colder waters, and have been know to swim great distances through cold waters, so it not unlikely that one came from the mediterranean ocean and chased some seals of the coast of Britain

This guy is so obviously lying its painfull, he has been watching clips on tv and just says what they want to hear! I bet the bbc word went out and he thought I could say anything and get on tele, what a knobhead!

there are loads of sharks round Britain tho Great White is not common. Not too long ago there were Tuna off the west coast, and there are still turtles in the summer so this isn't such a big deal really.

Perhaps the shark had been frightened off by the fishermen just by sight of the boat and left the majority of the carcass behind.
