The Hard Way of Robert Downey Jr. \'s Success - Full Biography (Avengers, Sherlock Holmes, Zodiac) While this is an excellent documentary, I feel it left out the fact that Downey (and Bridges) ad-libbed most of their lines on Iron Man and this is one of the things that apparently really helped that movie. A lot of the dialogue feels extremely natural and its because it was made up by the characters rather than some writer that has to think what the character would say.
The interview that RDJ walked out was also something that deserved 30 seconds more spotlight. The interviewer would not let go and desperately tried to get a soundbite. He basically cornered RDJ up to the point where all he could do was flee. When you watch the full interview, it is more than understandable while here it looks more like he was in the wrong.\r\n

For me, Less Than Zero is the movie that made me stand up and take notice of his acting abilities! I thought he was brilliant in that movie and at the time it hit way to close to home for me having a husband as an addict. I could finally understand more of the life of an addict. It helped me to cope so to speak, gave me strength to quit fighting a fight I had no control of and couldn't win! It wasn't my fight to fight and ultimately my husband lost his battle.

Honestly, you haven't done your research. You mispronounce a LOT of things in this. If you don't know how to pronounce bio-pic (as in biographical picture, Cybill Shepherd, Oppenheimer and Marisa Tomei, look it up first. It isn't that much work and it makes your video much more credible. This way it just isn't. Other than that, good bio.

Kudo's To R. Downey jr! This narrator was driving me crazy smh, he misrepresents addiction and its damage and the lifelong battle to stay sober that every recovering addict deals with. and he mispronounced so many familiar names but worth suffering through to see one of my favorite actors -

I thought that this was an overall interesting film. I do not understand why you could not say what substances he was using. I thought it was funny that the person/AI that was narrating could correctly pronounce Halle Berry's name, but completely flubbed Cybill Shepherd and Marisa Tomei.

I've liked him since Sherlock but what I don't understand is how any actor can be in 16 failed movies in a row but make $2 million for the 17th which still failed!
Does anyone in the regular world have multiple jobs and get that kind of money?
What are his club dues?

Awe poor little spoiled RICH baby. There are thousands of Good people suffering worse without access to the best rehabilitation and treatment. People with parental neglect. Oh and nepotism. Cheers to all the hardworking people who have made it without their rich daddy.

This is very surprising to me because I've watching him since the 80's and I considered him to be a failure at ANYTHING. I had no Idea that any of his projects were ever considered failures. If anything I always thought he was sensational. Guess I'm just a HUGE fan.

On the surface of it you could say Robert Downey Jnr didn't stand a chance with an irresponsible father like that. Yet he not only recovered eventually but rose above it magnificently. With strong support from his wonderful, devoted wife Susan. ----

reply

I loved him in Chaplin. that was a true master class in character acting. Then when it came out he was going to play Tony Stark. I thought YES he's perfect for that part. Nd the rest they say, is history

Gifted guy and tenacious to have come through chaotic early life and achieve so much in spite of it all + probably more important than all his achievements, he seems to be a really nice guy with a heart.

I like Robert's movies. He was always a great actor. Life is hard, you overcome! Have to go check out the Sandra Brown movie. She is an excellent author! Be kind to each other. Stay safe. Love to all

Cybil, Greenwich, Beatty, Tomei, Ebert. Some friendly advice: you need to figure out how to properly pronounce names because it makes you sound like you don't really know the subject you're covering.

Really unless the sherlock holmes universe is going to made up of other famous detectives from literature, doubt people will be that interested in spin offs. Hercule Poirot is already taken.

This is very interesting, but how can it be made without learning how to properly pronounce actors names or even the word biopic? I find this beyond sloppy and rather inexcusable.
reply

What a dream it was for me for Robert Downey Jr, Jude Law and Rachel McAdams to be combined with a Sherlock Holmes project. I would eagerly watch that dream scenario over and over.

I can see by the comments that most people don-t realize the actual abuse these people endure! Money is the illusion to happiness and most of the people on the planet do not get that

Is the narrator a bot? It should read and practice the script first, pauses are sometimes important. As well, pronunciation of very popular actor's names is not very difficult.
reply

FYI to the narrator he didn't fall asleep on the neighbor's couch he fell asleep in their daughter's bedroom she wasn't there he was so high he assumed he was in his own house

Something the narrator mentions is that his past made him the actor he is today. Much like all of us. Our past life experiences made us who we are now.
reply

No mention of Animal House, where he played -Pony-? Just wondering why, because that's where some of us first noticed him. Just wondering.
reply

Fix your paid voice actor or AI. Mispronouncing such a well know actor such as Marissa Tomei with such conviction is laughable.
reply

RDJ was born to be Ironman/Tony Stark. It was like the comic book literally came to life. Loved how Jon Favreau fought for him.
reply

I am glad to see Robert is keeping his deamons at bay, it really is a daily fight to keep the bastard locked away isn't it.
reply

Is this narrator not familiar with the proper pronunciation of celebrities names like Marisa Tomei is Toe-May not Toe-MY
reply

The narrator's mispronunciation of famous persons' names, place names and words in general is astounding.
reply
