you keep calling Loki the worst. do you think that's a good idea? hahah I interpret Loki's actions as a way to show the gods that they needed to understand they were being careless playing -let's throw stuff at Balder because he can never die. - In Balder's death Loki illuminated to the gods how they were acting better than humans by mocking death and injury, how the gods were acting out of balance with the natural world, and consequently how the gods may have believed they were too good to die. It's definitely on part with the -I call it like I see it- in Lokasenna. also you didn't make Loki a red head? Or at least blonde BRAH! ;)

So, why do you like telling these stories that were passed down from different groups about their gods? I am just curious.
I remember learning about the gods that the Egytians worshipped but their ideas of there being many gods is really ridiculous.
There is no one that compares to my God. That's because there can only be one God. Besides Him, there is no other.
I am thankful I was not alive then. I imagine I would have been an Atheist, unless my God made Himself known to me there as He has in my life now.

Great video! Balder was the manifestation of all the -good- in the Norse tradition - principles of honor, honesty and bravery. The Gods became too cocky and deemed themselves invincible, which is when Loki, whose true function is to bring about change, showed them how wrong they were. Thus, all these foundational principles of the Norse tradition mentioned above literally went to hell, I. e became useless, not needed. And although everyone was ready to bring them back, Loki as he always does, went too far.

Haha, was about to comment and the one below basically said everything I was about to write 2 years ago. But I would have been a little lighter about it. These guys generally do a very good job. The particulars of Native American society and history always get short shrift, which is crazy, since it's super interesting and we have a lot of sources.

Egypt is not the Greco hellenistic world. Its system is from East Africa. The Greco Roman belief system is European with influences of the people they encountered and conquered. But that doesn't make Egyptian beliefs European. Egyptian beliefs, have more ancient roots in east Africa and deeper into Black Africa.

Frigg: Everyone must weep for my son.
Thokk: Thokk that, Thokk your son and Thokk you.
When someone tells you to Thokk off, what they're really trying to express is; -[I] will weep dry tears at your funeral. I never cared for [you] - alive or dead, I have no use for [you]. I hope you burn in Hell. -

Since this is all perspective because she's Immortal why can't I just call her the Living God not because she's alive but because you'd have to be alive to embody dying as a mortal, though she herself is immortal kind of like a phoenix but the seasons within fauna and Flora

Human imagination knows no limits. Amazing the amount of garbage that people make up to explain the origin of things. Thank all the non-existent gods for SCIENCE! P. S. First people. Yeah, the fist to populate North America, NOT the first people ever!

It seems perfectly reasonable that we have a need to have a Diety, or version of one, that follows the same path as Humanity. one to which we can approach that which no human can escape, the finality of Death.
