Ladybugs spend most of their lives alone, gorging themselves on aphids. But every winter they take to the wind, soaring over cities and fields to assemble for a ladybug bash. In these huge gatherings, they'll do more than hibernate-it's their best chance to find a mate

Back in the 90s, I'd say, I discovered that ladybugs come in a number of colors. Found this out in my parents' big backyard. Orange, red, green, black. May have even seen a blue one and a white one(maybe. My Mom told me when I was a kid how beneficial they are. They're pretty neat. I think it's considered good luck when they land on you. A few summers ago I watched one crawling on my forearm and was amused because it almost appeared to be dancing. Great presentation.

when I was a kid growing up in california, Family went camping and during one of these trips we had the pleasure of going during one of these mating frenzies, Lady bugs EVERYWHERE, i distinctly remember going through a creek and hanging off one of the nearby limbs was just a mass of lady bugs, i grabbed it and they ran everywhere over me. At night they would be all over hte tents. It was both magical and annoying since they would get on anything and everything.

And what do scientists say about how birds fly to places theyve never been before? Breadcrumbs as well? look up children claiming to have lived another life, and then finding out theyre completely correct. Its through reincarnation, through DNA and you cells and body remembering what came before. Scientists funded by rockafella universities wont talk about anything of real substance.

There was a fence post on my grandparents farm near Redding California that had them show up for years till the post eventually rotted away and had to be replaced. Was always cool that seeing the post change color from a distance was the sign they had arrived.
Also got to see a monarch migration pass through for about a hour once. Never seen so many before since.

I heard they can fly higher than 1. 1km above ground.
Plus not all ladybugs have that red and black color: because a lady bug is any small round beetle that can fly no matter what pattern it has on it's shell because they are over 2, 000 species each with its own style.
It also has to be a lady bug if the larvae and adults are carnivores to aphids.

Its rare to see more than one lady bug at a time, or even in month spans, but to know they all come to certain places to gather by the tens of thousands is nuts

There's a bunch of ladybugs everywhere right outside my window. This is the first time it's ever happened. I wonder why it's happening here this year
