Once in a hike i saw a beautiful lush shrub, but strangely there was a small dead branch on one of it's vividly green leaves, i pinched it off, and fiddled with it on my hand for a bit, until i looked at it in my hand and noticed it was weirdly. symmetrical, hit with the realization i released my grasp and the stickbug hopped away

Can someone explain to me how evolution works? I don't understand how something like this is made over time. I'm guessing only bugs that looked like twigs survived and they just kept breeding until they became this?

Ok, now I'm confused. wish I could share a picture on here that I took on my porch today. Big walking stick with a little one on its back and the butts hooked together.

What if you put these guys in a tank with bizarre colors like pink or purple; will they also try to blend in with those colors?

You might do a video on Two Striped Walking Sticks. They're not so well camouflaged, but have an effective defensive ability.

Imagine walking in the forest, pick up this walking sticking as you thought it was a stick, and use it as a toothpick
