Revit MEP HVAC Doubts
1. How many no of Supply (or) Return Terminal should place per Space/Room/Zone. Is there any calculation method or formula or factors?
2. How to connect AHU(Air Handling Unit) with Transformer (Power Supply)?
3. How to Calculate Duct SIZING (Velocity and friction Value).
4. Why We create schedule and quantities generally for HVAC & Electrical?
Revit MEP Electrical Doubts
1. How many Lighting Pictures should place per Space/Area. Is there any formula or method to calculate this.
2. How to Adjust Wattage value as per no of lighting picture and why we create schedule & quantities comparision.
3. In Electrical Panel report I received room 1, 2, 3 in single row and word mentioned as Dwelling Unit. I could not understand the meaning.
4. How to connect Fire alarm/Nurse Call/TELE COMMUNICATION Devices with switches and power supply (transformer.

Nice explaination about AHU! I have one question about the sequence of heating coil and the cooling coil. I found in a lot of books, the cooling coil is place before the heating coil to cooling the air to the dew point temperature and remove the moisture in the air, and then heating coil will reheat the air to the designed temperature. Or it is only a design for humid climate and for normal climate where we don't need to remove the moisture in the air, we can place the heating coil before the cooling coil so that the heating coil can also solve the freezon problem of the cooling coil.

Hi Paul, you explained it very well in a way people can understand easily. Thank you very much for that.
By the way in the last stage of the video where you showed AHU in BMS, I saw return air temperature was 16. 8 which is less than the mixed air or supply air temperature. I hope it should be between 20-23 degrees which is satisfactory for end user and above SA or MA.
Does it has any connection with on cold and hot region?
Please correct me if I am wrong.

Thank you for the amazing explanation, but there is something I can't understand at 41: 32 -You pointed out expansion valves and refrigerant pipes within the AHU - shouldn't the refrigeration cycle and refrigerant just be in the chiller? Based on my understanding of your previous videos, AHUs, FCUs, and cooling towers just exchange heat between air and water, and only the chiller exchanges heat between the refrigerant and water. Why is this AHU different?

There seems to be a lot of extra, open space between the panel filter and bag filters, and then between the bag filters and cooling/heating, and then more open space between the heating/cooling and the supply fan. Is there a reason for that? I wondered if you may have spaced them out further for illustration purposes only. Otherwise I would think it would be more inefficient with so much open space in between each section.

I'm a new HVAC apprentice with a lot of mechanic experience, but I just wanted to say your videos are worth the time. Very thorough and knowledgeable. The software you used to narrate the systems is really cool. Keep up the good work brother. I'm liking and subscribing after this video. This is the 2nd video I watched and will continue to watch your content.

Hello, thanks for this video. Only question is regarding the heating and cooling side of the system. The cooling coil is fed from the chilled water pipe work which in turn is fed from the chiller or fry air cooler, for the heating coil, is this fed from the lthw pipe work in turn fed from the boiler/electric heater/district heating?

At 36: 14 you say you will get much greater efficiency in the heat exchanger if the fluid is moving against the force of gravity. Is that a mistake? I can see how that may make sense in a refrigerant evaporator or steam economizer, but I don't understand how gravity impacts the flow of single-phase water. Can you clarify?

please keep up the good work! I can see so much effort being put in to produce this clip and indeed, the others, which all are essentially a library of knowledge for a new graduate engineer to explore outside of the theoretical world.

Thanks for these videos. Just started as a project engineer at a mechanical insulation company and this has been so amazing for me to learn. FYI, the main job I work on is the MSG Sphere at the Las Vegas strip. Amazing place!

Does adding a heating coil to an AHU degrade the cooling efficiency of the system?
It seems like the heating coil will constantly provide added resistance to airflow and make the return air warmer while in cooling mode.

Considering a career in HVAC. This video is very informative. Any advice for someone entering the trade? What would be useful to study before taking a course? What would be relevant to what I would be studying?

Good day, for those fellow who are not familiar with the terminology, what is the meaning of HVAC? I know you are dealing with airconditiong as I heard for your narrations, thank you.

Great videos! It would be great to have some videos outlining As-Built drawings specifically HVAC/ductwork systems. If anyone has a good resource please post.

Thank you for the presentation. I have a question. Why frost protection temp sensors are digital inputs but other temperature sensors are analog?
