we look at how does a dc motor work to understand the basic working principle of a DC motor. We consider conventional current, electron flow, the winding, armature, rotor, shaft, stator, brushes, brush arms, terminals, emf, electromagnets, magnetic attraction as well as detailed animations for how the dc motor works

Thank you for this video. And all your hard work.
My idea is to apply this to a faceting machine and increase the power input to the grinding disc thus to have greater speed and higher rate of cutting. I am trying to research how to do so safely and efficiently. I am admittedly not good at electrical and better at mechanical.

I don't know if fleming's hand rule is useful for this motor configuration in the video. it's most useful with the radial armature coil configuration. This is a tangential coil ocnfiguration, and instead we could just try to explain this with magnetic dipoles created by the coils instead.

Does the North end of a magnet pull towards the South end - OR - do they equally pull towards one another? I ask because I see in the examples the lines go from the North to the South. Also, thank you for all the amazing videos, these videos are how I spend all my free time!

Hear me out. My project idea was like a pen. But it shoots out water. The water would come out of a small output. Like a small slit. Then the water would create a precise water blade. The Dc motor would be used to push out the water like a water pump. I think is a decent idea.

Why in the last example, it seems like he mixed up btw the left size and right size? Shouldnt left size force go down (since current go away from us) and right size force is up (since current go towards us. This also explains in his pdf file. Can sb confirm it?

I have a project idea. We can change Dc to Ac by using a dc motor. we can put a magnet on the motor and rotate it by using the dc motor. then we put a coil around the magnet without touching it and we got an ac supply. Does it work. pls tell me if it does. :)

Learning new bee. Lol
1000 watt 48 v front wheel 26 inch in plans. And playing with mags and thinking the nail and battery at school. And the junk yard Crane. And fire door closers when alarm activates. Cool stuff.

So that's it, all this time? There just tends to be a pushing force when a current runs through a magnetic field, and THAT'S what makes mechanical energy? Jeez, I thought it'd be a lot more complicated than that.
reply

the last part is almost wrong, the force generated by the current in the magnetic field is too weak, should explain using the magnetic field generated, that is why it need plate to magnify the magnetic field

Waht amazing work, eveyr easy to understand material. what software do you you use to make these videos, i want to be making videos for my students, i train kids in electronics here at home.

I see a lot of DC motors in my tape decks which is my hobby. I need to replace a mode motor and I think maybe I can just repair the brushes because there's a dead spot perhaps?

Most utuber inventor pretend to be hero js to build water flow and fan wing. While they still go to shop asking for this part. Do this from scratch if you really inventor!

What will happen if commutator is a complete circle and not isolated. Please explain me, are the coils attached to each other at the point they touch communicator?

we had used gear dc motor for our project, without even knowing about the working of it. Its very fascinating to know how it works. Thank you very much for sharing.

13: 19 current passing from battery to Plate A it means current flowing away from our direction so force should be downwards as shown before but why thumb up?
reply

Why on some other explanations is the stator to be coiled and not just a permanent magnet? The wires go through it and make it polarised. Thanks

Thanks a lot for making this video sir. your are brilliant person sir. once thank you so much sir. please try to make vedios more and more

I don't think people realise just how much effort it takes to create these videos. Each 5 seconds of video is about half an hour of effort.

At 13: 58, why doesn't current also flow through plate C, coil 3, plate A, coil 1, plate B and then the wire. Is that not a valid path also?

What would allow the most power in a compact package? Exemple reeling in 300-500 pounds without having to hookup a monster motor on a boat?

two positive also interacted, by pushing from each other! it also can be useful in some cases. Thank you so much for video!

Gotta take a moment and think about how creative and intelligent youd have to be to figure how to create a system like this.

I appreaciate you videos, they are so well made, that is very easy for me to learn, thank you very much for your work

Using this small of a DC motor, would you be able to use it to generate electricity in a science experiment?
