I think I get it fully but maybe not. Is the longer the wrench meaning more torque because the further away you get from the nut the less force per measurement needs to be applied. I imagined a scenario of me trying to turn a nut with a 70 ft pole or something and realized the further out I am the less force I need because the force is distributed into smaller pieces.

the engineering mindset Thank you so much sir. This concept was explained so beautifully. This might be the first time in life (I'm a mechanical engineer now, that I properly understood the concept of how high gear low torque and low gear high torque actually work. Thanks a lot.

True Story. Our science teacher in Secondary School asked me during class, What is Torque? Not able to give an answer, he began to ably demonstrate. 'You see this bamboo? It weighs 1 Pound and is 3 feet away from your arse, making it 3 Foot-Pounds. Whack! That is Torque.

Hi
On brass plumbing or refrigeration compression nuts, we lubricate the thread and copper to make tighten less effort.
Would the torque wrench over tighten the nuts if they're lubricated?
I mean is torque wrench relying on friction to click at set torque?

Don't get the bicycle gear part. Why does the low gear give high torque? The formula is Torque = Force Length. But the length doesn't change with high/low gear? And the force you put on the paddles is smaller when you have a low gear, so why is it not low torque?

Ffs so many basic torque videos. Can someone please do an advanced one? Can you increase torque by adding more gears in a row? How do you make something both high speed and high torque? What the hell is happening inside a lathe gearbox?

the bicycle analogy is bad because normally in bicycles the low gear is considered the high speed low torque and high gear is low speed high torque. thats why thr analogy can be misunderstood.

I was wondering where you got the 0. 3, thanks to the colors i figured that 0. 3m, 30cm amd 1ft all = each other. When you do not math for so long that you forget math, sigh.

Torque is simple.
It is force90 deg distance to a point.
More distance more torque.
When fixed distance more torque equals less speed like gears on a bike.

0: 50 it's not that force has increased, it's force per unit of Nut increased. In other words same amount of force being applied to rotate much smaller amount. Right?

Thank you so much! I always hear this term in various car videos and I am like huh. This was very simplified and great to easily understand.

Did you know, torque is beginning to be understood as one of the most important factors for planetary formation and even galaxy formation

Thank you for this. I was looking how to calculate the length of a breaker bar to apply 720Nm at the nut. Cheers
