Actually - a sentient street would be terrifying. Imagine walking home from work, and you have to cut through that street - and you realize that the thing is actually alive and can manifest anything into your worst fears? It could trap you by creating and endless loop of the street and you can never escape. that would be terrifying. Something that could actually work in a Justice League Dark universe.
