The very diverse and strange aquatic animals of the Paleozoic Era ( 500-201 million years ago. This was the time of development of all animal forms. Theres a few interesting and unique and bizarre groups of animals I've only learnt about in recent years, these include many of the land crocs, many weird and wonderful extinct mammals, Triassic oddities and the Bathornithids. Tbh I'm surprised I missed a lot of these like Barianasuchus and Paracrax given their size and notariety. But one other group is the Thylacocephala, or as I view them - space ship crabs. They're just a really, really bizarre form of life, and I'd love to see them in a documentary someday because they're so unique and there really is nothing like them alive today.

As interesting as different life forms scrolling across the screen are, equally as intriguing is watching the upper, right-hand at how much the continents shifted and changed throughout the eras of the Paleozoic. What starts out as Gondwana and a couple of indistinguishable islands gradually combines and morphs into Pangaea.

Not only do these animals look like nature was just throwing random crap onto an animal then making it a species, but their names even look like scientists just rubbed their faces on their keyboards then pressed -enter-

The Paleozoic era is such an unexplored era and holds many mysteries, it is very interesting how groups of current creatures already existed in the Paleozoic, such as the cephalopods.

Nice! Anomalocaris was massive for its time and I guess Dunkleosteus was the largest vertebrate of the paleozoic discovered so far
