Chile - History, Geography, Economy and Culture

A land of extreme dimensions and a tremendous variety of climate zones and biomes, from the driest desert in the world to lush temperate rainforests, scrub and tundra. It's narrowest of all countries in form, a product of being sandwiched between the largest ocean and longest mountain range in the world. Once a property of colonial Spain, it then saw an influx of people from all over Europe that went on to shape the most prosperous of all Latin American nations. Perhaps the most geographically fascinating of all countries, this land could only be Chile!

Well Chille has two main cultures, Aymara Culture and Mapuche Culture, the Aymara Culture is very dominant, Aymaras are in Bolivia, Peru, Argentina and Chile, in fact the name Chile is an Aymara word and Chilli means cold, because of the snowy mountains and The interesting thing is that in English cold is very similar Chill
The Aymara language was the language of Tiwanaku and the Wari Empire, the south was named Collamarka, also La Paz is called Chuquiago Marka and all south was called Collamarka, similar to Denmark, I found Dina is Danish and Marka is land and Marka in Aymara is also land or territory, and there are a lot of similar words between Aymara and English

It's incorrect to state that Allende was killed, he killed himself with an AK47 which was gifted by Fidel Castro. Also his govt had been declared unconstitutional by congress after repeated breaches of the Chilean constitution, including this coalition having a private army dedicated to take over industries and farms. Also Allende was not elected by popular vote, he was elected by a congress tie-break. History is a lot mot nuanced than Allende GOOD Pinochet BAD.

9: 00 -The economy was stabilized under Pinochet-. As a Chilean, born, raised and living here, I must say that is patently false. It was subjected to brutal Guinea pig experimentation in Chicago School economics, resulting in severe recession, poverty, homelessness, unemployment in the 1980's, under a dictatorship. It also led to Chile being the only country where water is private, as well as the country with more mental illnesses in the planet.

Thank you! for showing my native country. When I was in Chile. I did not know very well my country, but I am very proud of where I come from and my Mapuche's ancestors heroism and courage protected their land from the Incas.
Today, I remember my country with nostalgic Now is losing our beautiful Indigenous culture.

loved chile when I was there, as a brazilian, chile has many sights we don't get to see over here like deserts, snowy peak mountains and the pacific ocean. I talked to the people, traveled the cities, had fun in the snow and pet some alpacas, such a lovely and charming corner of latam

Chile is amazing. I've been to Santiago and Valle Nevado back in 2006 or something like that and to Santiago de Atacama right before the pandemic hit. I want to visit Padagonia, eighter Chilenean or Argentinean before I die. And easter Island would be awesome too. Cheers from Brazil

8: 40 False: Allende committed suicide. -
8: 53 Economic growth, in large part, was due to the economic ideas of the -Chicago Boys-, and which that military and dictatorial government miraculously adopted.
Anyway, the video is appreciated.

I am chilean living in Chile. born and bread. very good video and covered most things. you have represented my country very well especially not being chilean yourself. the only thing you missed is 18 celebrations. great job

outside of mountain ranges, continental south america doesn't have tundra. tundra is a biome that is characterized by presence of permafrost in the ground, and on any planes here, conditions for this biome aren't right

As a helicopter pilot, I lived and worked in Chile for about seven months, mostly in the Rio Puelo valley, inland from Puerto Montt. OMG! What an absolutely stunning country! And what fantastic people!

8: 34 your geography content is great, Geodiode, but your politics is a diarrhea. Spreading putins conspiracy propaganda, when his fascists ravage a country is a refined kind of degenerate, mate.

I am glad I learned English, if I didn-t. There-s not way someone in Chile would have done this job!

clarification: Allende committed suicide. He was a dictator. Not respecting congress, justice and supporting armed guerilla groups.
