Why Russia Built a Floating Nuclear Power Plant There should be more referendums on the larger issues that affect this country and how to faces then. I for one want energy security long term. I never want the uk to be in this position ever again. That why I think we should go nuclear and big. By that I mean a full on campaign to use SMRs all over the UK. This will give energy security and allow us to go green. We need to back R/R to hilt and get them built as soon as possible.
With nuclear we could do so much more for our industry-s by lowering costs and helping the future world to clean power generation through new small and large module reactors. Hope Nigel supports nuclear for the long term energy security, if yes he will get my vote.
It-s time we stopped listening to these fringe groups like environments, green piece, climate activist-s etc. they don-t speck for the majority of us yet they have the biggest voice. If they did speck for us they would of been voted in and they were not, they have there own a-gender and don-t care about the majority so stop listening to them and listen to the majority and go nuclear now not in 5-10 years.
We have the chance to be come world leads in module reactors technology so let-s go for it.

Build a SAFE (yes that possible) nuclear power plant on a ship, anchor it near a beautiful but cold beach, install trusted radiation monitors everywhere for people to see that it's zero and:
Get wildlife to inhabit the small zone of warm waters. Engineers, biologists will have a field day (great time): )
This could help wildlife diversity, make bathing fun, and provide carbon free electricity.
Maybe I'm just north European, but nothing better than a warm bath or sauna when is cold outside! If there isn't radiation, don't care where the heat comes from.
It's all engineering by the right people

It would have also been better highlighting the negative impacts from these. Nuclear waste accumulation, risk of potential accidents at sea and if so the inability for rescue services and the impact on a far larger are of the ocean
reply

Because it's easier to build a nuclear power station where you have all the resources needed and then move it to the location rather than truck all the materials and workers to the location and then build it there.

Just recently Rosatom has confirmed that the company is ready to mass-produce the FNPPs and the order of 10 ships were confirmed.
Together with land-based small NPPs that use the same reactors (RITM-200)

It seems to me that it can be used for space exploration. In particular, to provide colonies on other planets with energy. In principle, spent fuel is partially reprocessed into new fuel.

Floating nuclear power plant is nothing new. The US had the for decades, even underwater nuclear power plants. In such as Aircraft Carriers, and Nuclear powered submarine

Floating nuclear power plant will benefit land scarce countries like Singapore.
One day Singapore just need to rent 10-20 such power plants that operate offshore

Society-s rejection of Nuclear power was a massive mistake, and the environment has payed dearly for it as we continue to rely on fossil fuels for our electricity

Just like they invented many technologies in advance, like Grid Fins on Space X, their frontier R&D has many applications by other nations in the future.

America built one in the sixties and seemed to find it kinda pointless. It SOUNDS like a good idea, but there are more practical alternatives it seems.

we use the Nuke powerplan for our citizen on the north side sofar and it has much more potencial we can get out of this powerplant.

Well you see komrade, if you have a problem, you just let it go somewhere else! You cant have a problem if its not in your area

And what happens when a paranoid US hits it with a torpedo in the middle of sea thinking it-s an approaching carrier

Answer: for optimizing cooling, portability, and to ruin whole bodies of of water when they fail.
Now I-ll watch

Please, never ever use Green Peace as a point of people protesting. They have zero credibility and are a joke.

In reply to the title of this video - why shouldn't they build a floating nuclear plant if they feel like it
reply

When will people weigh risks properly. a nuclear disaster is likely. It's a boat. This world has gone mad
reply

they could invest this money on renewables, but nuclear power plants that float, what can go wrong really.
