You could use the AT commands even when you didn't program the FTDI breakout. But I couldn't use the AT commands when I didn't program the FTDI breakout. Can you tell me why I can't use the AT commands.

I have something like this only using a small PICAXE micro attached to the AC fail line on a UPS, it sends me a message when the AC line flickers a bit, completely fails and when it comes back on

its my understanding that GSM is no longer working! the phone system has changed and i dont think your device will work? they have gone to LTE is this correct? and is this video obsolete?

I didn't understand the line mySerial. println(char)26); what this 26 means, i tought that is the lenght, but the message only have 21 characteres.
