DIY Arduino LED Color Organ 2. 0 Dan: I like the RGB LED idea. but have you considered hooking it up to a strip of NeoPixels? You could have the closest NeoPixel show the color for what's happening right now, the next one the color for what was happening a few milliseconds ago, the next one the color for what was happening a few milliseconds before that, and so on. The color organ colors would flow down the strip of NeoPixels to the end and disappear (or perhaps fade gradually out as they moved, if you preferred. Put several NeoPixel strips in parallel and offset them a little for interesting shapes.

Hello
question: could you please explain how to ad input gain into circuit? since each audio file recorded different db level, a law level input signal is insufficient to turn on lights without boosting the music
or what if build a mini amp for instance LM 386 and use it as input gain e. g audio out into LM386 OUT in msgew7
will such solution work?

HALP PLS
When I change the 'delay)' value I get this error when trying to upload the code:
avrdude: ser_open): can't open device \\. \COM3: The system cannot find the file specified.
when i check my com 3 port in device manager (windows 10) it is assigned to my Arduino UNO?
any suggestions are welcome: )

After checking out your schematic I noticed there is no signal amplifier between JP1 and the eq chip. Is this because you input device can provide enough power? If I were to swap out the 3. 5mm jack with a microphone I would probably need an amplification circuit, correct?

I don't know if someone still reads this, but I have a problem with the newest model of the Color organ. When I play Music my color Organ reacts to it, but very slowly and when the music gets quiter the LEDs need about 3 seconds to dimm down.

Is there a recommended way to drop the LED's and wire the leads through a Arduino relay shield so I can run a larger array with this board? I want to use the color organ as the switch input control.
