Eunus & The First Servile War (135-132 BC) jen: Great job on your shows! I listen to documentaries at night to help me relax & to drown outside noise when trying to sleep & these short programs are perfect to listen to- the way the narrator speaks is nice & easy to listen to, not loud & clear spoken; the material covered in them is very interesting & much of it isn't covered anywhere else that I've found! Thank You for such hard work, the music you use during them is amazing by the way!

I've heard of the Sicilian slave uprising but not the names of the actual slave leader. I remember reading that there was a slave owning woman who was particularly cruel and horrible to her slaves and when the rebelling slaves got hold of her they subjected her to the most cruel, slow and horrendous death. That's what you call Karma! The name of this woman is known but i've forgotten it.

Who benefits from the destruction of this precious world culture sites in Syria? Similar to what happened in Iraq after the US lead invasion. Aren't the various Waring parties aware of the importance of protecting and preserving these site to Humanity? Again, I ask the question, WHO benefits from destroying these important archaeological sites in Syria?

Slavery is a disgusting institution. It brutalizes the enslaved, but it also displaces and disenfranchises the free-born/host population. All in the incredibly short sighted financial enrichment of a marginal-sized group of sinister and greedy opportunists.

I've read many of the details for these wars, especially the second one, are disputed because they're both so similar. The argument is that the Second Servile War is the same war with just the same as the First but with the names changed

I sincerely think the author is racist. He failed to mention one Muslim site that was in danger or already destroyed.
Europeans need to stay away from Syria and stop interfering and supporting groups in Middle East.

Even though many of the images are of Celt's, I don't mind a rip, because I will never tire of Angus McBride's illustrations. Keep up the hard work H. T, you could never make to many of these vids!

Really nice showcase of ruins at the end there. Ain Dara Temple looks like Persian carvings upon megalithic architecture. Gobekli Tepe is next door so who knows!

Good on you for consistently bringing up the danger of losing many important historical places and relics, people need to be aware of it

If I remember correctly, Aleppo is one of the oldest settlements ever - after the invention of agriculture. It is now in ruins

Isn't it wonderful how Spartacus fought the legendary outlaw Rob The Rotten over the control of the town of Lazia.

I know nothing about this war aside from the fact that it could be considered as a civil war in Rome.
