Sohla Cooks a 1, 000-Year-Old Hangover Cure - Ancient Recipes With Sohla - History Kida: I-m honestly surprised by the whole of positive comments here. And it-s not Sohla, she-s incredible as always; I just really, really feel History coming in heavy handed with the script. I can tell when she-s told to say something vs when she-s just being herself. I can almost see the cuts of them interjecting and correcting Sohla on things for her to say. The parts where she-s herself, and just having fun with cooking: great! Amazing! So fun! But when History comes in with the script? So forced sounding and just. didn-t need to be there other then the opening. Idk. I feel like Sohla is an amazing improv artist, even if people don-t realise that it is improv, her charisma; absolutely a hundred. Just give her a bullet point of what she needs to hit, edit it in the order you want, and just let her do her thing.
But, these are all probably pre taped in a span on a few days of shooting so, kinda wasted advice on this show. I doubt History even reads their comments lol.

Hi Sohla. Look into ash e reshteh with kask. It is iraninan soup/ash and it is a modern version of this recipe. I dont know how detailed the original recipe was. But I think few things got lost in translation. First, it needs to be more watery. The purpose of bones with a bit of meat on them was to make broth, not to have a super meaty dish. In modern version, we just cook the other ingredients in broth. 2. All versions of kask are the same, its just different method of preserving it. In Iranian cooking, powder and balls are hydrated and smooth out like the fresh version before adding to any food. 3. We add either acid (sour grape juice or vinegar) or kask. But I personally enjoy both. Again, if you look into the 'ash with kask' recipe you may get an idea how it may have been. Thank you. I really enjoyed these recipes specially the ones from Iran and Middle east, that I can relate.

It's 2021 and my wife makes kishk from scratch in the great white north of Canada every year I don't recommend it for a hangover at all. And you should only put awarma. A preserved beef made in the fall for winter storage and also potatoes

It'll be nice to have alternate versions of these ancient recipes with ingredients common in every pantry.
Because this looks delicious but I have no clue where to get some ingredients

Please please PLEASE keep making these. My husband and I have been hoping, wishing, and waiting for more episodes to come out. Sohla+ancient recipes = solid gold.

Hangover cure with no tripe? Usually it-s tripe, from Poland to Mexico. and for all I know in parts of Asia. Maybe tripe was beneath the dignity of a caliph-

you could do an ep on different ways to make pork roll or scrapple.
also i think diaryqueen invented it but i have been on a sausage gravy French fry kick lately.

I didn't really like Sohla when she was in BA, but she's amazing in this show. Really goes to show how BA really stunted her growth, in retrospect.
