Your map is very inaccurate.
Texas was already a part of the United States by the end of 1845. The Republic of Texas had been independent of Mexico for the previous 9 years. None of the major troop movements or battles of the war of 1846-1847 were fought in Texas. Mexican troops may have crossed over into Texas at the onset of the war, from south of the Rio Grande (Rio Bravo, in 1846. No one in Mexico at the time knew that the US Government had telegraph lines running from Texas to Washington. This was a powerful advantage to the US response to the border skirmish between the Rio Grande and the Nueces River.
The two large red arrows on the map show a total lack of knowledge of the actual American advances into the area which was northern Mexico.

would be easy if we just learn english and spanish in the schools and learn the REAL HISTORY so we just accept that we are the same people but long ago there was people that said we are different and they separate us since 200 years ago? Im mexican, gaming since 2000's, most of my gaming friends are gringos and I love them, never had a problem with them actually we all agree that is the gov that want gringos to hate mexico so politicians can make money etc like on the news where you only see hate. nice vid bro.

Hi Folks,
While the Mexicans lost the war, it can not be said that they lost the peace.
The most important thing that the Mexicans insisted on in the treaty, they received, which has brought down American Sovereignty with respect to that War which has led us to our current situation.
As for myself, we are better off for absorbing those people then, into The Union, despite this Treaty's one disastrous mistake.
Does anyone out there, know what that mistake was?
Sincerely,
R.

You left out parts about where General Santa-Anna was effectively forced to recognize Texas Independence in exchange for his and his army's lives. Then he welshed on that pledge. Your initial maps of Texas are incorrect as well since we claimed (and took) a LOT more than what was showing in your initial map. Texas was only -owned- by Mexico from 1821-1836 and yet somehow Mexicans still think they are entitled to still claim some kind of ownership.

According to mexican history the us army lost in san diego california at the battle of san pasqual. Also lost the battle of buena vista. And other battles. What these videos always forget to mention is, the terrible cost to the United States paid for stealing the land. One million Americans dead. Its called the american civil war. They tried making the new lands into slave states with horrible consequences.

Okay, so history tells lies when it says we became a state in 1836. Whenever we really became a state in eighteen forty five. I honestly don't know what to trust anymaybe history is wrong. Maybe people got history wrong.
The only way to know is if we were to actually invent a time machine and go back in time to these dates. Other than that I believe we are all just guessing.

Interesting. so the worlds 1ST DEMOCRACY, ok Republic, had and realized IMPERIAL AMBITIONS from its very beginnings. Creating an empire on the N. American continent was just the start, of course, and it later on waged war on Spain to conquer the Philippines and other overseas colonies, etc etc. Right down to the present day with military bases spanning the globe.

Tell that to the illegal Mexican floodIng California, Arizona, and Texas based preconceived notion that these were there lands before. The border has been established after Mexican lost the war, got paid for that land, and agreement with Mexican government. Whoever said a portion of US is still theirs need to go back to school

reading some of the comments i still see there-s tension and different views i think history is important but the present even more what america is doing to mexico and the mexicans still aren-t good i hope we can some day get along

Great videos.
Did anyone else notice that the dates and years are inaccurate, more than once.
Toggling between 1846 to 1847 and then back 1846?
Anyone else paying attention?
Of course not, most are american students -

You guys lie on the history of Mexico and if somebody doesn't want to sell their house you just don't sell it simple as that and yes you guys where bullies Mexico was trying to recover but you guys invaded Mexico
reply

This is the 3rd version of the American Mexican war. But all three have something in common. Mexican armies leaving texas. The Mexicans all across were ordered to retreat because they did not want the northern land.
reply

I read that slavery was a large factor in the dispute and this account does not even mention that. Mexico as a nation was opposed to slavery and the southern states were not and that was part of the dispute correct?
reply

I would of annexed Mexico and separated North America and South America Mexico City. But I do understand they already had lots of land and u have to defend all that land so yes I do get it
reply

Never thought I-d say this, but it looks like a good portion of Mexico was downright stolen by the US government while Mexico was at a most vulnerable position. Figures.
reply

America is a continent not a country! It should say The Mexican, United States war! Mexicans are also Americans! Anybody born in the continent of America is an American!
reply

Then they say that -we bring peace to the world- the -peace- you bring is to your world
You exploited resources from poor countries and exploit to this day

Mexico had just kicked out French occupation before war broke out with the USA. The country was bankrupt, divided and in no shape to have another war.

I can explain it faster, Mexicans thought they could keep encroaching north, Americans kicked their asses past rio grande river and the end
reply

This is such a white washed typical Americansplaining! Nothing about the slave states and Mexico out lawing slavery. -
reply

We should add a ten mile buffer zone to hold the illegal immigrants. If Mexico can't stop the influx we must.
