How British Mutineers Colonized Pitcairn Islands? I find this story highly strange.
as people go, Brits have got to be among the best at getting along, cooperating happily in work or harsh circumstances, and even in familiarity between ranks and classes. was Blighe literally just mad? and if so, why was he able to keep commanding ships? why did his subordinate officers never address the issue?
especially on this voyage where things reportedly got so bad that everyone was just miserable -. enough to risk a hanging.
the whole thing is so weird.
I havent read up on it and am not sure how many of those present wrote about it in detail, but it makes me wonder how accurate the story is and if someone intentionaly twisted the facts or ommitted some major element.\r\n

When I was in 6th grade, I read Mutiny on the Bounty. And then I read Men Against the Sea. And I immediately saw that everything has two sides. Was Captain Bligh a petty martinet or a brilliant leader and navigator? Could he possibly be both? Were Fletcher Christian and his followers wrong? Now in 2023, in my 60-s, I can see that I was judging Bligh by 20th century standards, not 18th century standards. On a British ship, the captain had to have almost total control. He didn-t choose the mission, but he was expected to carry it out.

Fletcher Christian: -I'll throw myself off of this cursed ship and face the sea in just a tiny raft to be rid of Bligh! -
Some enterprising Sailor, let's call him Jack: -Sound idea, one lone man, tiny raft, the open sea. But hear me out, what if _you_ stay on the ship and we put _Bligh_ in the tiny raft? -
FC: -That sounds better, I guess. -
Jack: -Aye, that's my lad. Now let's get this mutiny going so we can be back to dark rum and dark women in a week. -

It surprises me how many mutiny's didn't go -and then the sailor entered the captain's quarters while he slept, places the barrel of his pistol inches from the captain's head, and pulled the trigger. -
I mean, everyone hates the captain, is armed, and knows where he sleeps after all lol

In those days the Brits thought it was alright to go on holidays, and claim anywhere they liked, as their own. This was simply done by sticking up the union Jack. I know where the Onion jack should be stuck up! ---------------Personally I wouldn't wipe my Arse with that filthy Rag ---------

Bligh's -people management skills- later on were the cause of the Rum Rebellion, when he was governor of the penal colony of NSW. He must have learnt from his previous experience, because this time the mutineers had to drag him out from his hiding spot, which was -under- his bed.

Bligh's open boat journey from the South Pacific to modern East TImor is one of the greatest open-boat journeys in human history, right up there with the journey of the James Caird by Ernest Shackleton and company from Antarctica to South Georgia Island in 1915.

Huh. So it sounds to me that after a certain period of time John Adams had his own harem for a while. The only guy left that had a ton of women around his age and the rest were kids. I wonder how many of those kids were his? I-d imagine quite a few.

The true hero was Captain William Bligh who managed to navigate a small open boat through 1000s of miles of open sea to report the mutineers. His determination, skill and leadership ensured that none if his loyal crew were lost to the elements.

As an Australian why didn't we learn this from school?
All we were taught that Captain Cook discovered Pitcairn Island & Colonized it for Great Britain,
Then the British murdered the natives on the island

reply

The story of the Pitcairn Islands is a dark one. Not only are the modern inhabitants all inbred, the islands are almost openly paedophilic, with British and New Zealand police struggling to stamp it out.

Why does the narrator talk so WEIRD and CAMPY. This is nearly as intolerable as listening to a vocal frying narrator. Unwatchable. This narrator should pursue a career in theater, not voice acting.

How do you make these map videos, as they look so cool and I would love to make one for myself.
what things do you need for it, for example video editor etc.

reply

Didn't these fine, upstanding mutineers end up killing all the native men then end up murdering each other? Perhaps Bligh has been unfairly blamed for these idiots.

Ati putea face un video despre de ce erau atat de multi evrei in Polonia inainte de Al Doile Razboi Mondial, nu am gasit pe nimeni sa explice treaba asta bine.

It-s interesting that only one man was left with all the women and children - sounds like a cult. Maybe he convinced the women to kill their husbands haha
reply

Wow! A mutiny ultimately led to a small number of people to have 200 descendants! That is an amazing achievement there!
reply

One would think during a mutiny the first thing you do is tie the captain to something heavy and shove them overboard
reply

Just to nitpick, it's just HMS not 'The' HMS. You wouldn't say -The His/Her Majesty's Ship-. It's poor English.

When i clicked on this video, I was not expecting the real life backstory of the Telmarines from Narnia.
