I noticed my mood going down and constant mood swings once the weather started to get cold. I know its SAD because I know basically nothing in my life has changed between September and October but except it felt like my mental health was declining or going out of whack. During the Spring and Summer it felt pretty natural to wanna go up and talk to people or able to hold a fluent conversation. But now as the seasons are Changing Its alot harder to talk to people especially when you do want to converse with people but just cant find the energy or the words to either spark up a conversation and that alone is hella frustrating and gets me feeling more depressed. Im also more socially withdrawn which makes me feel even more guilty. I find it hard to admit to people that Im suffering with SAD cause I get the feeling people dont understand or that theyll look at me weird which makes the situation worse. I really wanna get some help but I truly dont trust meds as Im afraid of any long term negative side effects and having to feel like I have to rely on them too much. So yea this stuff sucks

I can't believe that i just found this video now. I never knew that depression have types. I mean wow i-i just realized that i suffer from SAD. The worst thing that is hurting me right now that all these years behind me i thought that i survived and cured my depression all alone every damn year. And when it came back (usually late autumn year by year) i always said to myself i survived last time, i'll do it now too. AND IT'S HORRIBLE to feel that that is not true. It's just seasonal it's comes back and goes away at spring. Like i didn't do nothing about it to go away. The 6 signs is the absolute describe of me at November to February-March.
I don't know maybe i sound crazy but it is so good to see that there are people just like me ( SAD) i mean i don't wish to anybody to experience this disorder.

About a few months ago my anxiety was at it's peak but since July I've been trying to cope with it and started succeeding. When I finally thought i was getting better then suddenly winter came and my motivation to do anything left. I see myself overthinking alot, can't focus on my studies while my exams are just 3 months away, my anxiety has been rising and as days get colder my anxiety and overthinking keeps increasing and i just lay in my bed the whole day. My screentime has been increasing sm it's like 8+ hrs on some days. No productivity and no motivation to do anything. I feel alot stressed about so many things and don't feel like going out with frnds.

I feel really depressed in summers. I live in a tropical country and summers here get really tough!
The temperature can rise upto 47degreeC, the sweat and heat and everything is just so frustrating.
I start getting nightmares and it's just soo frustrating.
Although we have airtime conditioning at home. It still doesn't get any better.
I feel more depressed when I'm alone.
Last year due to lockdown I just spent the whole summer breaking down almost everyday.
However this time I'm gonna try surrounding myself with more friends to get through this.
I'm hoping to move to a colder country as I get old

I remember being diagnosed with this in my earlier 20's, and I was told to take more vitamin D since my body was lacking it. It seems as if this year in particular is feeling different in some ways, but energy-wise, I feel like it's tanking even more even though I'm trying to be more active and eat healthy foods on a more regular basis. I've even been spending more time outside; everything but my energy levels feels normal, and part of me just wants to give up on trying because of how tired I am. I don't know what to do about this. it's not like I can just turn on a switch and stop feeling tired and drained of my energy

I hate autumn, specially november. During afternoon everything seems so grey and it's hard to me to find energy to do my stuff, I like a lot working out and eating healthy, but during autumn I can hardly find the energy to work out and I can't stop eating junk food, fortunately it goes away in december but it still feeling horrible to don't want to do anything (Damn, I hadn't thought about how bad it feels to don't want to do nothing and how the people with depression struggle with that all year. Anyway I just wanted to feel like someone is listening cause I'm home alone rn

Behind accurate. I dont know who else needs to hear this message but I just want to say that we will get thru this together. Taking time for yourself is valid. Cry it out. Write it out. Just a reminder that life moves in cycles. When youre going thru a rough time (especially this season, that signifies that better days are ahead. If you cant do everything on your checklist its okay. Dont beat yourself up about it.

This is very real. I believe I suffer from SAD. No one has diagnosed this but I feel it every year in the late fall and winter. I struggle to move at times and it becomes a constant struggle to feel motivated enough to get things done.
The only thing I want to do is hit up the sauna. I started looking into treatment options like light therapy because like most people I cant just buy a ticket to Florida.

My seasonal depression is from when the leaves fall to when the fresh spring air hits and the pollening begins. Add a short early onset in early fall. I struggle to do much of anything and my vehicle and home becomes a mess as I have trouble getting the motivation to even clean. Thankfully I don't get suicidal thoughts but I do get a strong temptation to just up and move to Florida.

But now i don't have energy anymore, instead of riding my horse after school i go sit on the couch and fall asleep and then i eat dinner and go to bed again and i am still tired.

Right now: My motivation is waning, I do not want to go to work, I do not want to study, I keep crying, feeling so tired and I just want to stay in bed and hide under the covers. I am so SAD. Therapy light doesn't seem to work. I feel like a zombie and it is my Birthday! Gosh, I should be happy!

I was just diagnosed with SAD on Wednesday but hopefully I will find a way to keep myself busy or try to find something creative to do. SAD is no joke I gain 30lbs every winter and lose it all by May. I think I will start trying to become a snowbird to go to warmer, sunny places for the winter.

I like working outside in the open air keeping busy but during the winter Im stuck in the house trying to find something to do I dont drink coffee much during summer but in the winter ugh its the opposite having ptsd from my army service doesnt help. My wife can tell when Im aggravated

Summertime sadness brought me here. Love that song but no really I have been depressed all summer long and can't stand it. It affects my mood, my appetite, my energy. I cannot stand bright lights in my house, the meet sight of bright lights makes me want to cry for no reason

i feel like i get seasonal affective disorder too. I hate winter, it's so gloomy and cold. When it's warm and sunny out like in the spring or summer, I am totally fine and I have so much energy but in the winter I get tired and really bored and just feel bleh
reply

Monsoon! Ah it saddens me the most. I feel so lethargic, sad, depressed. Just looking at those heavy dark clouds, it makes me so unhappy. The weather looks so beautiful but not the feeling. I feel like there is no hope. Ahhhh seriously.
reply

Long stretches of gloomy & chilly weather in the spring aggravate my SAD way more than normal winter weather. It's like I'm programmed to tolerate 3 or 4 months of darkness, but get grouchy when it extends to 5-6 months.
reply

Yes I have seasonal disorder I've had it all my life I've been having it for almost all my life and it's just really hard to believe in yourself and I just don't like it but I know one day this will disappear
reply

i watched this video for my friend who is battling seasonal affective disorder and to try to 1 understand them and 2 try to help them get through it or for it to lessen by trying ways to make it slightly better

Okay Autumn sucks in my opinion, this is because, it's cold, you are tired, School starts, Halloween is anxiety filled, and you just want it to be Winter so that you can look forward to Christmas.
reply

Thank you so much I feel so alone I just want to be loved by my family, but they're too busy, I cried at the End thank you it feels good to cry in peacefulness and understanding
reply

I cannot stand summer/spring, the brightness, hot weather, pressure to use the day.
Autumn and winter is so calming- cardigans, blankets, rain, books, candles, tea.
