Some guests came over my house. The couple had 2 children, one of their parents compared to one of the children, why can't you be more like your brother? My mom on the spot told that parent comparing is not good or healthy. Yet, i hear these words from her every single day.
'You're just selfish like your father.
Why cant you be more like your cousin?

After i do so much for you, you treat me like a maid

I'd just like to point out here, from a parent's view - that telling my kid that she should not be watching things older than recommended/with a dark nature was not intentionally to make her feel small. Her dad got her interested in viewing adult material when she spent time with him (we have been separated since she was a year old)
I had her school breathing down my neck and constantly threatening me with social services involvement - because they didn't want to deal with children interested in dark subjects such as death (this is the same school which couldn't care about a student strangling another student or a student carrying knives to school)

whole life except for a few moments but thats it my father wasnt in my life much growing up Idek who my real Dad is shes just toxic my own Aunt who I see as My Real Mom she even said that my real mother didnt deserve me bc of the way she is n growing up I started to see that Im 24 my mental health started disappearing bc of her n the mental physical n emotional trauma she put onto me n she acts like shes a wonderful mother shes not she even had the nerve to say that her Mother was hurtful towards her n so she decided to treat me the same way but I guess worse than what she went through. why me.

I just don't know what to say now but just cry because of how true this is in my life. am always so tired for no reason sometimes, and every second of living feels like am suffocating. I don't just know, I dislike being confused or conflicted so much but I always have to solve my problems myself. And I know nothing or more like scared to be Independent because I don't want to make a mistake. my parents are no much help either. AM JUST TIRED!

My mom be saying I would've left you guys if I wasn't Christian like it's a flex. Then she be like I love you, talk to me but she always be mad at me, she literally spits if I don't agree with her. She doesn't apologize for being wrong. When she says I love you it only makes me feel uncomfortable and she always hits my dog. She also says I would've killed you as a crying brat back then, but Im Christian so I didn't do it in the name of Christ. Like girl. be so fr rn

I have decided that I won't share my test results or even any information about my tests at coaching classes with my parents. Because when I don't perform well they compare and scold me and I get extremely stressed for the next test. And even when my test goes well, there is never an end to their expectations and the bar just keeps rising. So I figured it would be best for me to not share anything in the first place

Ok so I just need others, who know what they are talking about, opinions. my sons father threatens to leave and go bye bye if he doesnt stop his temper tantrums. And just yesterday he got up at a restaurant and left, didnt come back. To me this is causing him abandonment issues and it will hurt him later in life. His dad doesnt live with us so he can leave but you should never do or threaten that right!

I got 6/8 on the previous video and 9/10 for this one. it's a pity I didn't recognise these behaviors 20+ years ago (still had hope that I could have a good relationship with my parents). how you present these complicated and very subjective issues in such an easy format on a very accessible platform is truly wonderful. please please keep it up: )

I dont know where I got it from, but even though all the adults in my childhood were abusive, I still stayed true to myself and stood up for myself and still to this day.
My current saying at the moment is Im not perfect all the time, but Im always brilliant. The same adults are still horrible to me 40 decades later and I still ignore them.

You forgot about: Look out what you are sharing with others/look out what opinion you share with them etc, and you can't do that, you gonna hurt yourself. Now I have trust issues, I don't trust anyone and I don't believe in myself coz everything was forbidden for me, I couldn't do anything. I hate myself, my life AND my parents.

Especially unconscionable is to criticize things beyond a child's control like the shape or size of their nose or their complexion or their height or their body shape.

This is a horrible thing to say but I believe there should be a 'parents licence' implemented. If you are required to prove that you can drive a vehicle without killing anyone or damaging private or public property, the same principle should apply to parenting.

Now that my parents have passed on and Im in therapy, Im learning how toxic my parents were. As early as I can remember, I was told my parents expected me to be born a boy. They already had my boy name picked out. Thats when it started.

My Mother usually threatened to send me to an orphanage/ foster home and told me how terrible they were when I was a kid. She said I needed to be appreciative of How good I have it That kind of stuff.
