the conclusion you could make is that prisons are a bad way of rehabilitation, after Stanford prison experiment, after blue eyed brauwn eyed experiment see that there is long lasting damage after sutch a experiment in robbers cave iirc you'll see whit limited availability ofrecorces they'll just put each other down and get better at doeing so while being around other criminals, while the same once if the situation calls for it are capabil of working together, if the goal would also align whit rehabilitation and joining society in a productive manner and not behind belittled or dienayed basic income pushing them to a life of crime again, and the society being advanced enough to allow for smooth transition and being away for the previous gangs and stuff that pulled them in in the first place, while not being a prison, idk what that would intail butt something to solve i suppose. and there isn't even the last thing said and this is probly not the place for it, maby it has some to do whit sicoligy but.

I actually examined the Milgram Study at university, many of the participants did indeed ask the authority figure to stop, one being shown in a video saying something along the lines of I don't want to do this and the authority figure not allowing them to withdraw. One of the main reasons this study wouldn't be accepted today is because of that, all psychological studies must go through ethical screening and one of the caveats of this is that the participant must be able to withdraw from the study at any point with no consequences.

shame one of my favorites isn't in the list: the social experiment (forgot the name) where a bunch of people are sitting in an office building. one person is a test subject, the others in the waiting room are actors. suddenly the smell of smoke comes in, later on visible smoke, temparture rises, . the question behind this was how long would it take for someone to ring the alarm and get to safety, but the test subject is the only one experiencing the signs? turns out most of the test subjects would have burned to a crisp.

One thing I want to point out is that the Standford Prison experiment was discredited because Zimbardo went in to it wanting to prove a point and became a subject unintentionally in the experiment himself by interacting with it, removing its sterility, and inappropriately handling test subjects leading to cherry picking and false positives. Not that it isn't to be believed or that there isn't data to be gained from the experiments, but the data isn't reliable to real life psychological assessments.

I have experienced situations over and over again where one narcists engages me in a conversation (about work, etc) and a flying monkey standing in the group says things in almost a whisper that seems like they are trying subliminal tactics, including insults and suggestions because later I seem to remember some of the things the flying monkey said. It is very confusing and you think What the Frak is going on here? Subliminal tactics have been around for a long time. How can you combat this?

The Stanford prison experiment wasn't what it seemed. Those who were appointed the role of guard, were made to believe that the deteriorating of the prisoners was the most important aspect of the test. Therefore, the prison guards felt a responsibility; they didn't want to let the experiment fail and hence became more cruel than they would've been had they not been influenced.

I am this was mentioned but how about the Murray experiments in the 1950s it's most famous for one of the experiments subjects, Ted Kaczynski, it was done at Harvard University which still denies it happened, the purpose was to measure stress levels. 10 consensus he was already a disturbed young man but this may of help sent him over the edge.

Our behaviors are situational - the moral from study 2. Of course they are! Have you ever noticed that you act one way with some of your friends or relatives and another way with others? Also, if someone is pushed too hard due to circumstances, they can become bad, worse, or better, depending exactly on the push.

I remember 1 time in school we were doing this public question thing where you chose 1 or 2 publicly. I chose 1 but everyone else chose 2 I remember standing my ground and I was right. I felt so good after that. From then on I always stand my ground. Even though sometimes I was wrong.

The Stanford Prison Experiment wasn't all that valid. The researcher took an active part in stimulating the guards' behaviour and they probably wouldn't have done if they weren strictly told this was what they had to do for research purposes (a greater good)

In my opinion, there's some flaws with the Carlsberg Experiment, cus like it depends on what type of person the subjects are and who they stereotype against. Like dude I'd be so down to enjoy a movie and have some badass biker dudes sit by us

The stanford experiment is no longer valid, I wish you did more research on it, the original author of said experiment now admits he had biases and had kept encouraging the guards to act how they did so they could away the results.

there's evidence that the prison experiment was very much manipulated. highly suggest looking up Ben Blum's article The Lifespan of a Lie. debunks the findings, but is interesting on an entirely new psychological angle.

Zimbardo's Stanford prison experiment is not as accurate as your lead to believe because guards were told how to act and some acted that way because they are collage kids that had exams that some wanted to study for.

Doesn't your video just prove we can ALL be conditioned and that we all be get conditioned everyday by 'situational' situations, and how our circumstances measure out. come on people, think about this, and let me know!

Wasn't the Stanford prison debunked as false due to the fact that the students who participated wanted to be able to leave but couldn't. It was in textbook but now there proof it wasn't a true experiment

Watch Dr. Zimbardo's Ted Talk and how he placed the Stanford Prison experiment and Abu Ghraib Prison scandal side by side.
Also the man behind the Milgram experiment and Dr. Zimbardo knew each other.

Don't forget that psychological research on people of a certain social class, nationality, and cultural origin should not be carelessly used to comment on all of humanity

didn't McDonald's have to go court to change their training manual? The case was about strip searching an employee when there was no reason to.
