How is your mental health? Within the hustle culture and within society at large, the word lazy has negative connotations. We imagine a person whos messy, unkempt and unambitious and is given the stamp of a loser. However, laziness can be a consequence of something more complex and significant. In certain circumstances, it can be an indicator of poor mental health and possibly, depression. Are you struggling with your mental health but people mistaken that as laziness? This video is for you. We also made a video on the signs you're depressed, not lazy

this helped me telll my parent how i felt easier. they have been saying that i was lazy, and that i have bairly been in school for the whole 5th grade. but now i know how to express it to them. and i might even know where its coming from. (if you dont wanna read, dont)
when i was around 7-8 (4-3 years ago) my mother got a job as a teacher in a not so great school. she would cry in her room every day. and i would always hear it, and want to protect her. when corona came in, she felt happines for freedom, but when the first routine was over. she started suffering from stress, and slept in a trashy sleep scedual, and when i was half way through 3rd grade. i started getting easily sick, and crying from it. my mother would stay home from stress. i felt like i had to protect her. almoste a year or 2 later. she stopped suffering as much, but my protection mode was still on. it felt like she still was in danger. she didnt have a job anymore, another time skip (around start of 4rd grade) my mother crashed on a motercykel, and broke her leg, so she had to stay home. i remember being on the top level of worrieng. i would shake a little when people said the word mom or mother, thinking about what people might do to her. or what might happen! i was in pain by going to school. and one night. i heard crying from my parents room, it was my mother, the doctors didnt have enough time the day she came, so they just put a bandige on her, and thought it would work, the x-rey mashine was closed for the day when she came. so they just thought she was being a little dramatic, my dad called the hospital that night. me and my younger sister was in the bedroom close to it, my sister was sleeping. but i was awake with tears in my eyes, the ambulance came and got her, and she stayed there for 2 weeks. i was terrified of what might have happened to her. another time skip, and all my classmates was on the trend to be mean to people, as a way to show kindness i think. so they would say things to me. that i probably shouldent have been told. 4rd grade was finnaly over. we get to 5th grade. and i was tired. i had been staying up nights. not getting enough sleep at all. sleeping all day. throwing up randomly on summer days. there was this guy in my class. lets call him hah, hah didnt like me, my style, or my music taste. he would say things like oooh look, theres misses death metal emo HAHAHAHAHAHA (get where i got the name now) hah, and his friends hated me for not being like them. and he would send me snaps randomly like: why dont you date me hottie; ) or AHAHAHAHHA I WISH YOU WERE NEVER BORN LMAO, but if i replied he would start saying things like bakugou did to deku in the first episode. like DUNK OFF A ROOF EMO, it was so hard for me to not take seriose. some day i just sat down and talked with my mother about my class, and she started calling him the female version of his name (no hate to wemon, im a girl aswell, time skip to a night where i was up with my phone, i heard my mother talking to a friend of hers on the phone, when i heard her say Kirstine has a guy in her class, like that guy who hurt you at your last job, but he is worse then him. we call him aha (female version of his name) in this house so she wont devolope depression from that! i'm still so shaked by that. time skip to 10 days befor 5th grade was over (today) and my mother and dad talks to me about how much school i have missed. and if im just lazy or overprotected. if you red this far. thank you so so much for your time

Can we share what has worked for you so far? It may help others. hopefully.
I have had therapy a number of times but it is expensive. I have heard that forcing yourself to follow a routine/schedule, going out more. even if it is by yourself really helps. I am also trying really hard to stop being self critical and to really see the big picture. One thing is for sure. you are by yourself in getting that motivation. No one can be there and understand your mind. So I forgive my close family and friends automatically.
For me it also helps to see my husband and daughter and it makes me want to do better for their sake as well as mine.

Im number one addicted to my phone/tablet: but for me theres no solution because I cant defend myself against my grandma (no offense to any grandmas in the world its just mine) Even I try to confront her, she says I did nothing wrong and sadly I dont think I can response to that Bc even my parent (mainly my dad no offense again to dads in the world, my dad is a great dad btw so dont get mad/upset about this story. My father would say shes so nice shes amazing So Iam trying to force on a pokerface for my grandma But Im just a random person on the internet so who cares? Theres more worse problems in the world right now

So the first one is COMPLETELY FALSE!
I HATE when someone says their addicted to THEIR phone, that THEY bought, that THEY paid for, that THEY pay the bill for!
Maybe they GENUINELY LIKE being on THEIR phone and there's NOTHING wrong about that! What IS wrong is when some outside person thinks they have a right to MONITOR AND LIMIT how long someone wants/needs to be on THEIR phone, THEIR personal property!
What IS wrong is making FALSE statements and accusations of the person in question being addicted to something!
This is CLEAR MANIPULATION, CONTROL AND GASLIGHTING!

Teens and young adults need 9 hours of sleep (and not only 7 or 8. For younger kids I don't know, but if you're a teen or a adult under 30, and feel tired after a 8 hours of sleeping, so assume that you need a bit more. Assume you need good conditions just before sleeping too (no stress, chill time etc. Try to sleep 9 hours several days in a week and not only during week-end and avoid as much as possible short sleeping and sleepless night.
And do a blood test to see if you have not a defiency (iron, vitamin, magnesium, etc.

My problem is I have almost everything going for me, I have a nice big place to live, freedom, easy job, plenty of money, multiple vehicles. I dont even own a cellphone. The one thing I have not been able to accomplish yet is a successful relationship and now Im 32, so it feels like I wont at this point. Im would trade everything I have worked for to find a good woman.

That not being able to get out of bed thing is regular for me, but not everyday either. It stops me being able to get to work on time and so I got sacked from a couple of jobs. I'm fear I'll never be able to hold down a full-time job and have to rely on health welfare payments. Anyone else go through this? I'm sure it's common enough.
reply

This whole time I thought I was being lazy. I always stay in a room laying on my bed looking at the phone. I am going through some things. I have shut myself in a room thinking I have no hope but u make me realize a lot of things that I didn't understand before. idk if u might see amanda but thank u so much I really mean it

Countless times have I been told that I'm being lazy, but hardly ever/never asked why I had or hadn't done something. And now in adulthood, one of my major internal battles is me asking myself: am I truly suffering from mental disorders, or am I using it as justification for my avoidance and reclusiveness?
reply

Im dealing with all of this but also too I have strep + JIA and anemia but I have depression because my life has been a mess and I try and try again but nothing works to save my hope, because it feels like everyone is judging me and forcing me to do stuff that hurt me physically and emotionally.
reply

This genuinely made me cry. I'm definitely struggling, according to this. I hit nearly all the boxes, and that kind of scares me. Gonna work on fixing these things this week, at least the ones I can consciously do. Thank you for this video because you may have just stopped a horrible spiral.

I feel guilty for not being able to do anything then isolate myself because I am so ashamed but afraid to go back because I have this certainty feeling that I will just upset them.
Now I feel guilty for how irrational I think for isolating myself.

reply

I can actually relate to the first one alot, i use my devices too much, on daily, that i start to ignore my family day by day, i dont feel like doing anything else at all.
ive been doing this for more than 1 year now. i dont think im improving.

How do I help someone who is dealing with this? I suspect this is the case at least and this person is not that tuned in with themselves, so not convinced of therapy or external help.
reply

I didn't even knoww about that non restorative sleep. I've been wondering why even after sleeping 9-10 hours a night, the whole summer with no school, i felt like i had slept 4 hours a night.
reply

The fact that I realized that I was scrolling through the internet on my bed for 2 days- I didn't eat neither did I drink or took a bath- I just didn't even move from the bed once
reply

I relate with all of these but I dont oversleep. Im very addicted to my phone to the point I go on it every night. It honestly is horrible. I just feel horrible and sleepy all day.

I don't know or understand no matter how much and try to explain to my parents I'm not okay is frustrating because they overseen it all and don't understand, it's frustrating
reply

Then it dawns on you: Of course, Im phone. I am consciousness. I am imagining myself. I am whatever I conceive myself to be because there is nothing outside my endless Mind.
reply

I know everyone says it but its true. No matter what youre going through it will get better. Lifes not an easy fight, you cant give up not yet. Youre too good to give up.

These are also signs you can have ADHD: . I've got depression and ADHD both so I don't always know which one's currently affecting me but I relate to 100% of this.
reply

It was so relatable, I didn't know it was depression, after my friend pointed it out.
I watched this video and I was like what! Last month I was in depression

reply

I do see people with their significant one online a lot. I do get jealous a bit but at the same time it does make me feel hype up to achieve that someday
