The guy I liked when I was a teen rejected me early on so I settled for having feelings but not doing anything with them because I wanted to keep being his friend. I hoped they'd go away eventually but I'd get confused because there would cases where it felt like he acted like my boyfriend such as cuddling, nearly kissing a few times, he liked carrying me and lifting me onto his lap, and on one occasion asked if we'd get married someday. This would often lead me to bring up the relationship thing again and then he'd reiterate we're friends again and stop and then eventually start again. Whenever I showed signs of another relationship he'd make it awkward by embarrassing me. We met when I was 14 and he was 15 and knew each other until I was 17. By that stage I had given up trying to make it make sense. I'm 24 moved on and don't know him anymore but still occasionly wonder if he was messing with me, into me or if I was delulu the whole goddamn time.

Once i had a crush on a girl in my school but i preferred to just ignore and kill my feelings for her because of the bad consequences i would face in future and she never knew i had a crush on her. But, her behaviour towards me was really confusing like she genuinely cared for me but idk whether she liked me or not. She showed behaviour that a girl would show for their boyfriend like she wished me on my birthday where could just ignore like many people did and also she asked about my well being when i had an accident idk how she knew about both my birthday and my accident. But it left me confused even rn. I just let it go by just giving myself an answer that she was just friendly that's it. 3 signs shown actually were accurate but still I'm confused. Maybe I'm right she was just friendly and sweet that's it.

Look for patterns guys. It’s ok to not respond or talk all the time when you’re just getting to know someone. I am very skeptical of guys who text too much or even everyday from the get go.
But if plans are being made to meet more often, bond more and relationship has been defined with clear loyalty then that’s a great pattern even if texting is limited or infrequent!
My friends are married to guys who SUCK at texting! Like if you see their messages you’d think there’s convo w a DoorDasher but in person, these guys don’t see anything but their woman and family. Too much texting is also a sign of the type of game they’ve been playing for too long. So be careful out there

Having experienced breadcrumbing firsthand, I've come to realize that it's not our fault. We all deserve open communication and mutual respect in our relationships. Here are three tips on how to deal with breadcrumbing:
1. Trust Your Instincts: If you feel like someone is breadcrumbing you, trust your gut. Don't ignore red flags or dismiss your feelings.
2. Set Boundaries: Clearly communicate your expectations and boundaries early on. If someone isn't willing to meet them, it's a sign that they may not be serious about the relationship.
3. Focus on Self-Worth: Remember your worth and value. Don't let someone else's inconsistent behavior define your self-esteem.

Question: what would happen if 2 breadcrumbers got together Though i already have a rough idea.
If 2 breadcrumbers got together there could be 3 possibilities i could think of:
1. They both fell in love with each other therefore they are no longer breadcrumbers.
2. One of them fell in love while the other doesn't, making the one in love a victim (talk about karma.
3. (Which is where I'm confused) they're both still breadcrumbers to each other, so. what happens Do they just fall off after some time Do they continuously breadcrumb each other Or maybe its impossible

I still have a chance! Maybe im good! Then after i see the video i break down in tears because i have 0 signs of the video, so thanks psych2go for making me remember every day how useless i am and if i die literally no one will care: )

Currently involved with someone who checklists every criteria for a person who'd breadcrumb. As an empath it's highly emotionally draining and hurtful, given the amount of efforts I've given from my side. She's a good person in herself but i don't think getting in a relationship with her would do me any good in the long run. Thanks to you and a little bit of knowledge I've gained of psychology, it allows you to better regulate your emotions and analyse situations from a third person perspective (with minimal biases)

I have experienced this in my past relationship I just didn't understand what the term was or anything about it. If I had this video at my disposal when going through this I would have seen the signs much sooner. My advice to those who are experiencing this don't give in stand your ground because you know what is best for you. You don't need someone that does those signs when there are people out there that won't do this. Hope this helps you if you need it like I did when I went through this with my ex.

This was very helpful. I’m that kind of guy who can’t help but offer every bit of love or commitment to the one I’m wanting to get together with recently, I asked a girl if the idea of us being together was something that could happen her answer: maybe.
She also barely replies to any of my messages whether it’s asking how she’s doing, or something about how I feel about her it’s difficult when all I want to do is love a woman to the fullest in a relationship.

I doubt breadcrumbing happens in cohabitation. I'd say it happens in a live apart atmosphere, most likely in the early part of meeting or hooking up with someone however it stays in that position often with the breadcrumber being an opportunist and likely having a few people at the same time. sounds more like a friends with benefits arrangement and keeping a few on tap. Also it would be the a fallback position for the grass is greener or upgrade your catch type of person

I actually love my best friend for the opposite of this. They're completely honest about us just being friends, but they also don't mind that I love them or how much I enjoy our time together. We talk daily, visit multiple times a year, and in the latest visit just talked about the possibility of moving out together.
Compared to my Ex, who lead me on while exhibiting every single bit of breadcrumbing as our connection started to sour; I'll take my bestie any day.

This literally spelt out my last relationship. Absolute torture full of uncertainty and anxiety. I wish I didn't make so many excuses for her, and just accepted the fact that if she actually wanted to, she would. Always thought maybe I was the problem, and I was simply not understanding her enough, but the reality was, I was Bread crumed as a source of attention and validation without any real desire to keep me. It's hard to process and I'm still processing it.

It’s quite possible that the person whose behavior is identified here as breadcrumbing has an avoidant or disorganized attachment style, which I view as different than manipulative, though it may have that as a secondary effect upon the other person. I am reluctant to accuse someone of engaging in manipulation, even if their behavior feels hurtful or confusing to another person, if their actions are based out of their fears regarding their own emotional safety.

Ex best friend did this. She was so hot and cold to me. However, I didn’t realize there was a term for it. It sucks cause idk if she’s truly moved on. I’m doing all I can to keep her out of my life. I cut her off from my life completely. But she still knows my address and she’s so hot and cold still. Like leave me alone! In a perfect world she’d be out of sight and out of mind for good. She’d move on and live her own life.

This video honestly came out at the perfect time for me. I was overthinking everything and I felt like I ruined things, but seeing how all these signs matched the person I was talking to almost to a T, it's kinda scary and it helps me feel better and understand that it wasn't completely my fault. That I was looking for something that wasn't there in the first place, at least not with that particular person.

I think he breadcrumbed me last year. I chew & scold him for doing this, and let myself explore other guy. Somehow, he become better version of himself. But I no longer hv feelings for him & state it to him. Now we become chat buddies, talking about almost everything. Neither I nor him wants any relationship, so this is fine as a killing time till I met the right one.

He watched your videos
And you guys made him cruel
So cruel that he hurts me like hell doesn't repent at all
He doesnot even try to think how sad he made me, how i almost ran out of breath while crying.
And he is doing all this because of your fking ideas to move on.
How could he give up so easily

Oh, the sweet little crumbs you find are the sparks in the dark of life. You just have to remember that it's just crumbs not the entire cake. You have to be weary of the sweetest little cake crumbs that you follow like a mouse, it may be rat poison that you're enjoying and not knowing. Of these things I know.
