Explore the philosophy of Hannah Arendt, and get to know her strategies to combat the threat of totalitarianism and oppression. -- Philosopher Hannah Arendt was a German Jew who dedicated herself to understanding how the Nazi regime came to power, and more specifically, how it inspired so many atrocities. She believed the true conditions behind the unprecedented rise of totalitarianism weren’t specific to Germany, and developed theories on how to best combat such threats. Joseph Lacey explores the work of Hannah Arendt.

To everyone talking about palestine. Keep in mind that a simple slogan means nothing, and it unites people with very different views. You may say free palestine because you want a stop to the war and the establishment of a sovereign palestinian state. But other people say the same slogan as you with the intent of eradicating or expelling the 7 million jews currently living in Israel. When the attacks of october 7th happened, millions of people went to the streets in many countries to celebrate the murder of men, women and children, those people are in your protests, wether you know it or not.

The underdeveloped/developing regions of the world face a similar problem today. Systems of education have been tailored to only serve mathematical and scientific knowledge (which are extremely important) but completely omit social sciences and philosophy, or serve a terrible version of them that does not encourage any deep introspection. This leads to fertile ground for rampant populism that is currently plaguing these societies, where soundbites are a greater cause for action than intellectual reasoning.

Quite unique, the west has been a banner of transparency and free speech since 20th century, and yet without totalitarian governments, still can convince masses to commit and support genocide.
But looking closer, the west do act totalitarian for a very specific issue: criticism against israel. West mass media seems to be controlled by invisible totalitarian regime/editor, which guard israel from any negative publication and while also promote dehumanising Palestinian.

The real answer is Jealousy. Jewish people usually had better jobs in higher positions. When this continuous for a longer period of time, people get jealous and blame a group. Happens everywhere. Than have someone that actually dares to speak those deep rooted feelings and there you go.

A Perspective: In WWII, there's no good vs bad. It's bad vs bad.
Allied power did the same thing in America, Africa and India that German did with J-ws.
But history books will never tell you that. Because the victorious always become the justice.

A timely video. The last safe place in Gaza is currently being invaded by today's genocidal state. What will it take to break people out of their bureaucratic business as usual attitude of acceptance towards the unfolding genocide

I remember everyone asking the same question when we were learning about WW2 at school. 20 years later nobody bats an eye when the Israeli prime minister calls an ethnic group rats and says they should be klled like animals.

History is repeating itself with our current leadership and media. just like FDR and the NY Times denied the horrors of the camps for far too long. Deny the current hatred if you want but then you are part of the problem.

using fear and violence to induce obedience and destroy free thinking starts with parenting, ordinary people who consider diligent obedience the highest form of civic duty starts with parents teaching them that

Eichmann's last meal was only Carmel's wine with the usual prison food of cheese, bread, olives, and tea. He drank about half of the bottle
Ironically, Carmel's wine is Israeli so he drank wine made by Jews

I voice against oppression, I voice against the killing of the innocents in Palestine. But I don't understand why I get accused of supporting Hamas, who too are oppressors.
reply

Now the same people that were oppressed are oppressing Palestinians, with the same belief of being better than the ones they’re oppressing, and with the same unanimity
reply

Its not that hard, look at how Turks massacred Armenians.
And they literally tell you the reasonings behind that decision.
Unlike Germany, they don't feel any guilt.

So its quite alarming that those who ask you to be as normal as possible and do not fall out of line may be leading you down the road of isolation and disjointedness

It's almost like they're trying to say something! Whatever could it be Perhaps if it weren't for conditions as described in this video, they'd be able to tell us explicitly.
