As an avid bettor myself, my philosophy is that you should never try to MAKE money, because that leads to greed and irresponsible decision making. Never chase losses, only bet what you can afford to lose, and only bet on games you watch. I loved sports before betting, but betting has made me even more into it. If I lose, I paid for entertainment, if I win, I got paid to watch sports. All about self control. Been doing it for years and with it becoming legal in my state last year, and with the promotions and bonuses, I estimate I'm finally in the green for my lifetime. I am content.
However I do not like these ads being promoted in soooo many places and soooo often. People are susceptible, especially in low socioeconomic backgrounds, where people are telling them they can make it rich. That needs to change.

Live sports betting companies do not estimate the probabilities. Instead, they update the odds constantly. Lets say we are placing a bet on a football match. There are three main options. Bet on home wins, a draw, or away wins. They look at the total bet on each option and update the odds instantly so that they end up in winning money after paying to the winners. Same logic with roulette, but even more certain. They (usually) cannot change the probability of 00 on a roulette but they can always change the odds of a football match. If some guy place a huge bet on home winning, they can easily drop the odd from, lets say 4 to 1. 5, instantly. If the guy wins, the company can pay him with losers' money and still claim the leftovers.

Sports betting addiction is crazy. During highschool I heard a classmate talk about how he'd placed an online bet in a Pakistani horse racing event. I find it very hard to believe that he had any actual interest in Pakistani horse races. He was just betting for the sake of betting. He sounded so excited about it too, like he really thought he was gonna win big. I hope he's doing okay now.

Sports betting is one of the worst main stream things to happen in the world. Never ending ads& analysis. Every sports show speaks in betting terms. They’re all shills to rake cash from the middle class and lower class to the upper class. Just a pure funnel upwards. Trickle up economics & it actually works.

Why are there ads on betting in the first place Cigarettes don't have ads. Alcohol basically only beers have ads. But addictive betting you see at least billion ads a day One betting company had ads where players are checking slots on their phones during the sport events. How is this legal!

I won 200 euros dollars on Real Madrid but i wagered like 2000 euros being very reckless so I quit. I also lost some bets after that and could have lost so much trying to make 200. I dont recommend it anyone, any job will earn you more money per hour

It’s sad how much of the advertising space here is dominated by either tobacco or sports betting. Feels like we’re selling distraction and addiction more than actual value. Are we really shaping a healthier society or just monetizing escape

This really killed sports watching for me. Seeing that, at least in my country, these betting companies are shown as sponsors, it is hard to say whether, behind closed doors, they have an influence on the results.

I tried one of these apps thinking it would be easy to guess and lost like 5 bucks, deleted account and app.
I understand now why it seems a new betting site appears every week or so, they're very profitable.

Sports betting apps: It’s just for fun!
Also sports betting apps: sets dopamine trap with confetti animations and fake wins
This is less about sports and more about psychology warfare.

Sports betting isnt betting because if you know how the teams play, you gain an edge.
Just kidding, they adjust for that. House always wins, especially when it's online and gray-area regulated 1: 02

great video but i didn't understand how this applies to specifically sports betting
like, they obviously can't manipulate the results of a match right then how does the near miss trick work there

Was given $100 one time and blew it all on a single arcade game trying to win a pair of headphones, actually ended up winning and the machine didn’t even give me my prize, never again.

It is bad, really bad. IF you blindly bet, which most people do. Arbitrage betting (free money) and EV betting are ways to beat the books. DO NOT bet with your gut.

It’s important to note Dave Portnoy and Barstool sports are some of the modern innovators of sports betting and pushed it into becoming mainstream. Never forget

I gamble exactly once a year and buy a single ticket. I go into it with the mindset of I am going to lose this money, I am only paying for the thrill

Remember. you’re always just 1 bet away from hitting it big!
Also- you can only lose 100% of your money, but you can win 1, 000, 000% of it!

If I become a dictator, taxes will only be paid through lottery tickets. Instead of paying taxes, you have to spend so much money on lottery tickets.
