I appreciate this, but, feet and inches really do make more sense. Obviously not for scientific purposes, clear SI is the way to go. But in daily use, the ability to measure things from my foot or my hand is extremely useful.
I would probably adapt as the rest of the world has, but at the same time (disregarding for a moment colonialism, measuring things based on common things (like feet, is truly far easier.
(Colonialism does intrude on more than we Americans think, and it is important to realize the realms of information that exist outside of the indoctrination of colonialism)

BUT - as J. J. McCullough insightfully points out in his video The Enemies of the Metric System, It is very difficult to use rational arguments to persuade people to stop doing something that they never started doing for rational reasons in the first place.

The metric system is so much simpler then what we use in the U. S, it has more consistency. One of the main reasons the U. S. hasent officially adapted it is because traffic and road signs all over the country would have to be changed.

metric system is by far more efficient. It's not only distance and wieight. It's also about measurement of Volume, Energy, Intensity, Rapidity, Conductivity, Viscosity, Density, Electricity. and so many others.

Everyone is talking about the US still using the imperial measurement system but no one talks about Myanmar's system of measurement which is completely different from either metric or imperial.

I don't know why I get frustrated after listening Fahrenheit miles and foots and sometimes I feel how can people use this stuff to measure things instead of Celsius kilometres and metres.

American here, started cooking with metric and it has been freaking great! Just bust out the scale and start adding stuff by weights. Measuring cups/spoons be damned!
