Explore the creation of China s Three Gorges Dam, and find out how the hydroelectric plant generates its power. In 2018, a single power plant produced more energy than the world s largest coal-powered and gas-powered plants combined. China s Three Gorges Dam relies on running water, and is capable of producing more energy than any other power plant on Earth. So what allows Three Gorges to generate all this power? And how do hydroelectric plants work in the first place? Alex Gendler investigates. Volcano: The Beijing Weather Modification Office form a part of China's nationwide weather control effort, believed to be the world's largest; it employs 37, 000 people nationwide, who seed clouds by firing rockets and shells loaded with silver iodide into them.

Please Ted Ed make a video about it. I wish China becomes successful in this mission.

Most controversial power plant. are you telling me the Fukushima nuclear reactor meltdown which radiates the groundwater many years later and from which many tons of radioactive material have been released into the oceans was less controversial? How about Chernobyl? Seems to me China can't catch a break on any Western media.

Hearing about all these dams destroying natural and cultural sites was depressing. Dams still have problems with silt. over time, the reservoir fills up because the river's natural flow was disrupted and sites downstream lack vital sediment that keeps them healthy and helps prevent damage from rising seas.

There's also the impact on wild life, some scientists believe the constuction of Three Gorges was a signifigant contributing factor to the extinction of the Chinese River Dolphin, one of the few fresh water dolphins in the world.

Fresh water can jst flow into the sea. or it can get charged into the land while supplying us with energy.
Nuclear on the other hand can supply us with power for a 50 year or sow. and then go on to poison us for 1000s of years

Is crazy that the world is still amazed with hydroelectric power, here in Brazil we almost rely only on it. Itaipu dam produces full energy for a whole country (Paraguay) and for most of Brazil, and we built it in 1984!

Law and order exist for the purpose of establishing justice and when they fail in this purpose they become the dangerously structured dams that block the flow of social progress.

China is building this dam on river Bhramputra of India coming from China. It will be very bad for the ecology of India. China shall rethink about it.
Last line will be a joke always.
