Ceres = planet
1) It's kinda round orbits the sun, and has enough mass for delineation of materials through gravitational separation.
2) If we were outside of the solar system and observed it transitioning the sun, we would call it a planet.
3) Defining a solar body by subjective factors external to the object implies that the entity creating the categories and definition has an absolute understanding of every potential variable. That is a very unscientific methodology in my opinion. Shall we use the same disposition to redefine stars to require a certain number of planets? Ceres was the first mistake. After the discovery of Pluto, the mistake should have been corrected. It will be corrected in the future. I'm sure of it. The IAU's planetary definition will be considered the biggest scientific blunder of the early 21st century. It's a shame to limit the public's appreciation for the golden age of astronomy that we are currently living in because of this conservative backwards nonsense. Most of our remarkable discoveries from the last century and especially the last few decades go largely unnoticed and remain marginalized due to the Big Blunder.

i now knew where asteroids first came from. when Cal friedrich gauss stimulated his nose 2: 21- 2: 27 then 2: 28he then plucks it. then BOOM! the first asteroid orbits through his head first before it goes to space expanding! Another BIG BANG!
