Patient P. S. suffered a stroke that damaged the right side of her brain, leaving her unaware of everything on her left side. If someone threw a ball at her left side, she might duck. But she wouldnt have awareness of the ball or know why she ducked. Where does consciousness come from? Michael Graziano explores the question that has vexed scientists and philosophers for centuries. 00: 57 _P. S. s condition, known as hemispatial neglect, reveals an important distinction between the brains processing of information and our experience of that processing. __That experience__ is what we call consciousness. _?
Totally 100% wrong!
This fundamental error is made again and again and this is why sometimes you should THINK beyond these expert YouTube videos.
Consciousness is what has the experience. It is the subject that beholds every experience. It is not the experience itself.
The mistake is giving an experienced event the attribute of awareness. An experience is NOT aware of anything. something is aware of the experience. That something is Consciousness. Consciousness is The Experience(r). not the experienced.
Consciousness is that which experiences. not that which is being experienced.

So do we have more senses that we are unaware of having?
Is this how the subconscious works? We perceive things, we react accordingly but are unaware of knowing them and unaware of why we reacted the way we did?
Maybe premonitions (I swear I have had them) are actually our senses? We are just unaware of being able to perceive things that way?
Maybe if we had a higher consciousness, we could become aware of such things?

1. Consciousness is holding the same place in the universe what it holds in my dream.
2. My dream (Including me and others, who were living in my dream) was imagined, seen and known by consciousness, which was independent of my dream.
3. The universe(Including me and others who are living in the universe) is imagined, seen and known by consciousness, which is independent of the universe.

This made me go through an existencial crisis. then I looked through the window, it was raining. And, for first time, I talked to myself and thought: 'if I'm just a conscious model of my brain then my brain and I are really smart aren't we? '
I was genuinely laughing and at the same point feeling kind of meaningless, but at the same time comfortable. What a crazy world.

Maharishi Mahesh Yogi supplies complete answers to all questions about Consciousness in his two books, and in various lectures. There is no need for anyone else to write or talk on this subject: the puzzle has been solved once and for all. Read these two monumental works of philosophy and take your first steps on the path to enlightenment

We can only experience conciousness. as per vedic science conciousness is apart from body and mind. Imagine you have light reflecting in your body so without your body also light is there but we can not see. Conciousness can only experience through the body and mind. One more thing is it is completely different than awareness

I like the theory where conciusness is underlying field like gravity and we connect to it like we connect to cloud. Brain is only the hardware but conciousness is the code we can not see. We can see electricity currents in the pc even transistors but we can never backengineer source code of operation system.

in other words. we probably don't have a soul. our conciousness is merely a result of brain activities
but that still doesn't explain why I have seen a ghost. literally someone disappeared right in front of my eyes. what's more shocking was that I wasn't the only person who witnessed it at the time.

Awareness is our true self. There is nothing else but awareness. The brain (pineal gland to be more precise) simply serve as a receiver for it. Did you knew the pineal gland contain crystals inside of it. Yes crystals just like in a radio receiver.

This video doesnt really answer what consciousness really is. It only says why it is useful to have it.
The real question is: how can electronic signals eventually realize that they exist and even think about themselfes.
