During World War I, scientists were trying to develop an antidote to the poisonous yellow cloud known as mustard gas. They discovered the gas was irrevocably damaging the bone marrow of affected soldiers. This gave the scientists an idea: cancer cells and bone marrow both replicate rapidly. Could mustard gas be used to fight cancer? Hyunsoo No details the discovery and development of chemotherapy. Lesson by Hyunsoo Joshua No, directed by Artrake Studio

I have a 4th recurrence of brain cancer now, and know that I'm probably gonna die relatively soon, unless successfully treated somehow. I underwent radiotherapy, chemotherapy, and 30= neurosurgeries, and, as a result, have several disabilities, including homeostatic hydrocephalus (hydrocephalus that won't go away through no fault of the surgeons. The surgeons, other doctors, and nurses did amazing work with me, as well as physical therapists all who I credit with rebuilding me, and giving me a few extra years of quality life, which is all one can ask for in my situation. Chemotherapy definitely sucks, but, can be preferable to surgery, although, not always. This info, to the best of my knowledge, is true, and I wish the best to anyone dealing with cancer. It's not a fun thing to go through.

My mother died of colon cancer last year. She didn't go through chemo. She didnt even tell us the truth that the doctor said she only have one month to live. I regret not being serious about her condition. What i only have in mind is that it will soon be treated since i thought that she was just in early stage of cancer. But i know its still cancer. I spent time being by her side but i know it wasnt enough since i was distracted because i have needy boyfriend at that time that wants to talk through phone like all the time. I regret not serving her with my full attention. I wish she could forgive me.

Worst part about my chemotherapy was the nausea that always lasted about a week after one therapy session, constant small feeling of wanting to puke. Also the fact that they pumped about 5-6 litres of liquid into me daily for a week didn't help that feeling.

How does chemotherapy work? It doesn't. The cure rate is very low. More often than not it just delays death by months but those months would be miserable. You're better off either saving your money for your kin or spending it all on your bucket list.

My eldest brother was just diagnosed with esophageal cancer. I feel so bad for him. But over 50 years of smoking unfiltered cigarettes, it was bound to happen. Never said I told so, just going to be whatever help to him I can.

Chemotherapy gave my mum type 1 diabetes that is completely out of control, her blood sugar levels are like the damn Himalayas and no medication can stabilize them. All her doctors joke that she invented type 3 diabetes

Despite the fact we haven't cured cancer yet, the fact what we've been able to go from an absolute death sentence to something that can in more and more cases be survived is amazing
