Australians call them runners. The British know them as trainers. Americans refer to them as sneakers. Whatever you call them, these casual shoes are worn by billions of people around the world. Today, roughly 23 billion shoes are produced each year. So, how can we balance our love of sneakers with the need for sustainability? Angel Chang explores how shoe manufacturing impacts our planet. how will u change your factory to echo friendly without spending money? u don't. echo friendly materials will last even less (from my knowledge so far from echo friendly materials) and u cant rly donate shoes because of skin diseases, any kind of it which can transfer from foot to foot by wearing the same shoes

I bought a Converse Chuck Taylor All Star sneakers. They labelled it as sustainable and made using reused and organic products. Is the claims true? I replace my shoes once for two years.
What are some organic, sustainable SHOE brands I can shop from?

They should make the shoes last longer and more expensive the expensive part gives the company a reason to make them last longer if they last longer it would be more convenient for us and the company so its like a win-win situation

Alternatively, you could get leather sneakers that are resoleable and take them to your local cobbler - its a dying out profession you can support while keeping the beloved shoe you have so many memories with: )

We as informed humans knowing the harm of sneaker manufacturing will not change it unless adversely affected by it. This is a fact, whether we like it or not.
