A new virus emerges and spreads like wildfire. In order to contain it, researchers must first collect data about whos been infected. Two main viral testing techniques are critical: one tells you if you have the virus and the other shows if youve already had it. So, how exactly do these tests work? Cella Wright explores the science of PCR tests and immunoassays. Lesson by Cella Wright, directed by Hype CG

If the virus can be blown away into the environment, which should be the reason why you want to put a mask on people, why do they need to go deep inside your throat or your nose to find a sample? And why do they try and find a piece of the genome rather than the virus itself? I mean 2 genes are much smaller than the whole virus? And how can we be absolutely sure that those nucleotides are really unique to that virus? Have we analysed all viruses in nature? Methinks we haven't. And what about cross reactions and false positives?

I know this is a terrible spot to be in but what you need to think about is the reason why this is happening. Im taking about it spreading Im talking about the happy reason this has happened. Did it happen because humans were destroying our earth and by being in our house gave the earth a break? So when your upset about this think about the good reasons this happened.

Can anti body test be helpful in identifing the danger in a region Like if most people have the antibody then we can say the area is highly affected and needs higher health fasalities.
reply

Not Entirely True, Immunoassay can give a false positive if someone has been successfully vaccinated and it can take upto 10 days for Immunoassays to detect antibodies in blood

its crazy to think that weve figured out multiple ways to test for viruses but theyve discovered people testing positive for covid but negative for antibodies
