Hmm, minor correction:
At 2: 53, there shouldn't be a + and - signs near the particles. They are radicals, which means they have unpaired electrons and are very chemically active because of that.

I still don t really understand how surrounding tissue isn t irradiated - I imagine it would work more like a drill: irradiating tissues from the outermost layers all the way down to the tumor

Well, yes i don't use scalpel all the time. Sometimes i use a hammer or even my hand to break the skull cus damn the controls are hard to break a skull with scalpels
