Between 1968 and 1972, NASA successfully sent 24 men where no human beings had been before or since. The final mission, Apollo 17, flew in December 1972 and closed the final chapter in NASA's triumphant Apollo Program. The Apollo 17 Experience is an emotive, informative and inspirational tribute to the spirit of human exploration and mankind's final steps on the Moon

I love this mission. I asked my parent's did they remember Apollo17, the last landing, and they have NO memory of it. But they remember Apollo 11 vividly. Yet Apollo 11 was on the moon for a short time, Apollo 17 was there for 3 days. I feel sad that people at that time lost interest in a moon landing's. 17 seems to have happened to but a few, not world wide. Of course Nixon had cut the program, and he was under investigation for 'Watergate ', I believe it was 1972, when it all changed. I think this is the most open, candid, humorous flight of all. They are hilarious, and like kids. At liftoff, Gene says wow, we cleared the tower, and instead of referring to Houston, he said BOB, These astronauts were expressive, and, descriptive, about every part of their journey. Comedy gold. wish Gene genie was still here. I would have loved to meet hi. hope I get to meet Jack, and Jim Lovell, Charlie Duke, I'm an Aussie, and I intend on flying over for the next moon launch, and to hopefully meet the original guys that went. cheers

This documentary series is probably twice as good as the Apollo 11 documentary that came out recently. And that is mostly because this is twice as long. Twice the goodies.
Otherwise, perhaps the most exalting depiction of the exploration of the moon put to film.
First Man was a fabulous fictional account of the first moonlanding, but I'm inclined to agree with Chris Hadfield's opinion: everyone was too gloomy in that film; spaceflight is fun. Why wasn't there more fun?
This documentary clearly depicts the utter joy Cernan and Schmitt felt every waking moment on the moon.

Across 11 manned missions, 24 men went to the moon. Hm:
Apollo 7: Earth Orbit 3
Apollo 8: Orbit Round the moon 3
Apollo 9: Earth Orbit 3
Apollo 10: Orbit round the moon, test docking 3
Apollo 11: First Landing 3
Apollo 12: Landed (very little TV, wrecked the camera early on) 3
Apollo 13: Abort due to major failure 3
Apollo 14: Landed 3
Apollo 15: First rover mission 3
Apollo 16: Second rover mission 3
Apollo 17: Last rover mission 3
Yes 11 missions. However only 9 went to the moon. 7 & 9 were earth orbit only.

What a beautifull time. Scientist trying to discover the history of the Sun while today a kid called Gretta Thunberg tells us what changes the world. I wish we could spend those billions of dollars in that climate lobby on actual research.
The mass hysteria mentality we currently have which in part was created with all the social media makes me really sad. Weve like 2 simple missions going on atm at the sun.

oxygen in a a diving tank can only last 60 minutes maximum, 50 years later.
Yet these fool can walk around on the moon surface for 8 hours, with a small back pack which contains a cooling condenser, heat pump, radio. all which can withstand 260 degree Fahrenheit.

The most powerful rocket ever, I think the scene of Apollo 17 leaving the launch pad is by far the best ever put together, the music the build up to ignition and we did all this 50 plus years ago. simply incredible. watch that Saturn 5 go

I am curious to know if the moon landing deniers have nothing else to do? Spouting nonsense in the face of MOUNTAINS of evidence. Do they teach their children this weak drivel? But dad, the text book and all the other info. i have says.

They never went too the moon,
Stop falling for this lie.
Imagine landing in an alien environment, and popping the tin can door open, exposing your computer and all sencertive equipment to high radiation and heat.

These two guys were just as excited as I would be. Being the last moon landing and being the last guys to walk on it out of other candidates. Idk if Id wanna come back to earth. Probably die happy up there.

I dont know anything about space but I was told that there is no noise out there you basically cannot hear anything while you outside, but why can we hear when theyre hammering the rock (time 38: 25) or is me?

Ok, at 44: 37 one of the astronauts sings darth vaders imperial march. But this was in 1972. Did john williams take this and use it in the star wars score or am I missing something? Bit weirded out by that.

I wonder if there is a telescope which exists to see the details and ALL the alleged Apollo equipment alleged to be left on the moon. I would love to see the 12 pair of spacesuit boot overlays. lmfao

WARNING ALERT! Incoming wilfully ignorant comments by the adherents of the Flat Earth & Magical Dome Cult, and other nincompoops of the Lunatic Fringe. Thatd include Apollo Moon Landing deniers.

At 22 minute On the original footage he talks about seeing a structure on the Moon
and says it is sub horizontal located to the south east why did they edit that part out

Have a lot of respect for UFO forces, your religion burnt on launchpad 34, on Monday 11-15-93. As far as UFOs are concerned They don't deserve to be subjected to Human illogic.

fabulous documentary. my only complaint is the background dramatic music was a little much, I want to hear the dialogue clearly, and the music drowns it out a bit

how come they say this landig site have the oldest rocks, yet the youngest vulcano rocks? and i didnt see the 4+b age-stamp on the rocks you are talking about.

My father took us to watch that last Apollo mission blast off at the cape. I was young but still have those amazing memories of the tour and launch.

During the Challenger landing. there is the 'sound' of the engine. is that real or faked? During the landing, they are talking to Gordy. who is that?

It would be nice if the producers of these films could judge how loud the background music is compared to the voices you're trying to listen to.
